It was no surprise when she woke to someone sniffling in the hallway again at half past one.

She knew it was Reeve and she didn't even think twice before she slipped out of bed. Something told her Reeve suffered from nightmares but by the time she pulled open her door, Reeve had moved down the stairs. She bravely followed. She wasn't afraid and she didn't try to make herself hidden, she wanted Reeve to know that she was aware. She wanted to make a revelation, for both of them.

Reeve didn't go the kitchen as she did last time, instead the woman turned to the main foyer. She was slightly confused but followed through the purposely left open door. Reeve stopped in the yard, beneath the half cracked moon that scattered moonlight across the earth, and she stopped on the porch after closing the door.

"Why do you keep following me at night?" Reeve spoke first in a softly broken voice.

She didn't even breath, "Because you're hurting."

"I'm fine," Reeve answered.

No, she thought, you are anything but fine. She could see the way Reeve's shoulders were slumped instead of proudly pulled back, she could feel the way Reeve was tortured on the inside but kept a facade on the outside, everything leaked into the air between them and she was no stranger to any of it.

"I'm not mad at you." She chose to say.

Reeve tensed, "You should be."

"I'm not," She confidently replied, "Maybe when I first found out, maybe when you kept acting emotionless, but not now. No, right now I want you to know that I don't hate you."

Reeve turned, silver eyes gleaming in the dark of night, "I don't get why you people keep apologizing and forgiving me for the crimes and horrors I've committed. I don't deserve it. I've learned to live with the hate, I've learned to leave the past, but that doesn't mean that the people from the past should be so willing to give me a second chance," Reeve peeled back her lips slightly, a snarl on the brink to shatter the silence, "I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to forgive me and I won't let you. Keep your hate, keep your grudge, its the only thing that lets me know that I'm not innocent."

She chose to ignore Reeve's change in behavior, she already knew Reeve was feeling completely different than what she was portraying, the encounter she'd witnessed between Reeve and West was her assurance. For a moment, looking into Reeve's cold, silver eyes - she could see herself. She could feel the hate Reeve was harboring for herself, being forced to stand face-to-face with her as if the past had come back to life. She had once hated herself as well and pushed everyone away, but now she could see beyond that.

"Why were you in the woods that night?" She questioned, as calm as moon above.

Reeve glanced away, knowing exactly what she meant, "I was searching for something. My instinct told me that something was there and I had to find it."
