When the food finally arrived, I was amazed. The food was two times bigger than before!

The waiter placed my bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich in front of me.

"I don't think I can eat this whole thing" Justin says. I look over to see that his waffles are stacked up to be as tall as a skyscraper.

"Yeah, this is a lot of food." mom says. I turn to see that she has two pancakes the size of tires.

Okay, I was exaggerating a little bit, but I was pretty close.

I take a bite on my sandwich to find that it's delicious! I don't know why, but food makes me so happy.

"Gina, do you know what today is?"

"Um, Sunday?"

She giggled, "it's Saturday."

"Oh, sorry" not really caring "I loose track of days"

"I see. you probably lost track of something really important."

I go through birthdays, holidays, and even deaths in my brain but still have no idea what she's talking about. I look over at Justion, but he looks just as confused as me.

I turn back to mom and see Emily walk out the door. "I guess?"

"It's the end of the month, what have you decided?"

I look at her confused.

"Are you going to the barn or selling your horse?"

"Shit" I mumble. I didn't have an answer. Justin started to talk to make an excuse but I put my hand up.

"Who's going to buy him? I asked flat out.

Mom sighs, "gina, I told you. whoever puts up the money will get him."

"Nobody's going to do that, with how nasty you've been saying he's been. " I snap.

Mom speaks sweetly, "you have to get over this, you can't not ride, I know you."

Ha! she knows I'm right!

"Really? you know me?" I say with more anger and too much confidence. "if you really know me, you would've figured this out a long time ago!"

Justin's foot smashing into my leg so hard, I almost cry. I look at him and his eyes were wide and pleading, shut up! youre going to blow it! shut up!

"Sorry" i mumble still mad.

"No, youre right, I'm never going to be able to sell that horse."

Soon mom pays the bill, yelling at Justin for offering to pay, and we walk out.

When we got home Justin and I went upstairs into my room. I knew that he was going to yell at me for getting too cocky.

"Way to almost blow it!" Justin said quietly so mom wouldnt hear.

"I'm sorry! I just got so mad!" I Said matching his voice volume.

"Well, you have to be more careful if you want to keep this a secret!"

"What secret?"

Justin and I spin around to see that mom is standing in my bedroom doorway.

I frantically go through my mind trying to find some excuse that I could make up. Only one popped into my head but Justin would have to agree to go with it and i cant ask him with mom standing right in front of me. I look over to Justin and I could tell by his face that he was trying to come up with something to say too.

It feels like ten minutes with awkward silence, both me and Justin refusing to say anything.

"You guys are dating aren't you?" she asked.

Wow..... that was going to be my excuse.

"What? No!" We both say in sync .

Mom, not looking convinced asked, "Well, what is it then?"

We were trapped, I was going to have to give up the real secret and eveything with be ruined.

"Gina, just say it, tell her what Emily did." Justins voice calmy said next to me.

"Fine, Emily gave me a dirty look at the diner today, its not a big deal so I didnt tell you, sorry."

Mom giggled, " She offered to buy your horse, wanted to move up two levels from her horse. But I said no because I know how much you hate her"

"Oh, wow, thanks." I was surprised, she didnt sell him to the first person that wanted him.

With that, she went downstairs and left for work.

"Thanks for the bruise on my leg" I say when she is gone.

He chuckles, "You deserved it."
