"Happy Birthday!" Both mom and Justin say in a sing-song voice as I sleepily walk down the stairs. I show a half smile, a little embarrassed to have so much attention on me. Mom turns around and shows a gigantic pile of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and all things breakfast squashed onto a dinner plate. Just the smell of it made me so happy.

"Thanks you guys!" I say as I'm lead to the table where I start to hoover the delicious food. They take there own plates with about half the amount of food on there plate than that's on mine.

When I start to make the halfway mark my stomach cramps and threatens me to not take another bite. I sadly push the plate away from me "I'm full."

"I would be surprised if you weren't" Mom laughs and collects my plate. "So, we could do one of two things." My mom says. "You can open your gifts now or we can go get on line at the DMV."

My eyes open wide, just now remembering I could get a permit. "DMV!" I almost scream.

"Let's go! Before the line gets to long!"

I run up the stairs and get dressed in record time. Moms at the door when I skip back down the stairs. Justin comes up behind me and wraps his arm around my waist. "I gotta go to work but I'm coming back early okay?" He asks. I nod and he kisses the top of my head then whispers in my ear "Good luck, I hope you can actually drive now." I smirk recalling how I drove to the hospital that day.

We both leave in separate cars and soon I am on the treacherous line at the DMV. It takes just over three hours for me to reach the counter, then I'm escorted into a room with five other people staring intently at the papers in front of them. Shit, I think. I'm screwed. These people probably studied for this while I never even thought about the word study for the entire year. The lady with a grey ponytail yet a sweet smile handed me a packet and a pencil.

Within a half an hour I passed the test with only one point off. When I get out of the room the line that used to be a mile long is now vacant. The bored looking people behind the desk sign my temporary permit which is really just a piece of paper and they send me off. When I was just about to step out the door one of the ladies behind the desk stand up "Wait! Do you want us to give you you're actual permit ID? We can because its not crowded."

I spin right around and the lady leads me to yet another room where I get my newly updated picture taken, then wait another half and hour then BAM! I get a shinny new ID.

"Can I drive?" I happily ask mom as I skip out of the door.

"No." She laughs.

The second Justin walked through the door mom skipped upstairs and started rummaging through what I assume was her closet. "How'd you do?" He asks.

"Passed!" I say as he hugs me.

"Well I'm shocked!" He jokes but I punched him in the stomach as He just continued to laugh.

"Here" Mom says from the top of the stairs. I look up to see her holding two perfectly wrapped gifts that are wrapped in purple wrapping paper. One was about the size of a large textbook and the other one was about half the size.

She tosses me the smaller one and I open it to reveal a little handy book. Confused, I look up at her then take a closer look. Oh My God! This is a handy book for a computer! "No way!" I screech excitedly! She hands me the bigger gift that I now rip off the wrapping paper to reveal a Mac Book Air in the box. "Oh My God!" I reach out and lightly hug her. "Thank you so much!"

She chuckles "No problem. You can set it up later."

I set it on the counter while Justin carries down a big box from his room. He hands me it to me and I nearly fall forward it was so heavy. "Careful now. No need to loose any teeth." He jokes. I giggle and continue to open the same purple wrapping paper. Then there was the brown colored box with tape on it that I couldn't get off. And I felt like an idiot trying to so I just gave up and ripped the box. Inside, there was books and books and even more books! The first couple I glanced at were The Hunger Games series, The fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska, Speak, and so much more buried under every other book. "Since you like to read and all." Justin smirks.
