Shelly came into my room hesitantly. When she noticed Jesse's glare, her face became passive.

"Relax, I'm not here to start trouble." She said walking past him. I just blinked in surprise. She came up to me and gave me this blue gift bag that was in her hand. I passed it to Blaine. "No Alan, it's for you." Shelly told me. Something for me? From Shelly?

"Um thank you?" I said as Blaine gave it back to me. I felt this could get awkward quick, so I hurried to take out the contents. Something fuzzy was in there.

I took it out to see a stuffed lion. I let out a half-smile and put it beside me. I saw there was a card in there too, so I grabbed it.

It was a 'get well' card; inside were signatures from the cheerleaders. Some left messages such as to get better and even left their number in there.

"Wow, thanks Shelly." I said looking up at her. "It's a card from the cheerleaders." I explained to my friends. Jesse seemed to relax. Blaine gave me a knowing smile; so people did miss me huh? That was..nice. I saw Shelly's signature in the middle. She told me to get better so she can get her target back. I started to laugh. "This is really cool, thanks."

"Sure, it wasn't anything." Shelly told me with a shrug.

"Do you want to hang with us?" I asked her. It almost felt like I was talking to a friend. We all found ourselves looking at Jesse. He gave us a careless glance.

"She could stay if she wants. It's not my house." He said getting back to his original seat and started texting away. Charlie and Kevin stayed quiet.

"Actually I should get going." Shelly said pushing back a strand of her hair. "But thanks." She said as she made her way out.

"Bye." Blaine told her. Shelly said her goodbye and left the room. I saw Jesse look over at the door for a second but he didn't say anything. That idiot. If he wanted her to stay, he should've just told her to.

Blaine tapped my shoulder. She showed me the time. Time to take my medicine. Great.

"I'll go get it." I said happy to leave my bed. Blaine immediately pushed me back down.

"You rest, I'll get it." She said before asking if anyone needed anything. She then went to the kitchen while I sat up.

"Jess you're an idiot," I said voicing my earlier thoughts. He pretended he didn't hear me, so I rolled my eyes. I put the lion and card back in the gift bag and put it beside my bed. "So how's school been?" They all shrugged at me.

"School's the same old, same old." Charlie said, rolling her eyes. "Don't tell me you miss it already? You only missed one day so far." She told me giving me a flat look.

"Wait until he comes back to school and starts kissing the floors." Kevin said with a laugh. Charlie joined him.

"I'm not going to do that." I said rolling my eyes.

"I could imagine him doing that." Charlie said still laughing. I grabbed a pillow as a shield before I replied.

"Funny that you guys are laughing about me kissing floors when you desperately want to kiss each other." I saw Charlie's face go red first, and I started to laugh. Jesse started to laugh too at Kevin's expense. Kevin and Charlie both looked embarrassed and my only regret was Blaine not seeing this.

I could tell Charlie wanted to hit me, but she didn’t move from her space. Blaine came back and gave me the medicine. I thanked her and took it. She saw our amused faces but didn’t comment.

“So what’d you do all day Alan?” Blaine asked. I gestured to my bed. I started to laugh when she thought I was serious.

“I’m just kidding, but your mom and mine was making sure I didn’t move too much.” I said laying back down. “But otherwise, I got to get up to see you guys and Sidney.” I paused for a second. “Lily came by too.” I told her and my friends.
