Jay’s P.O.V

Three weeks they’d been gone. Three whole weeks that Louis had missed of the boy’s lives. Rebecca had actually been a big help dare I say it. She’s given me and Penny our well-deserved space while the big boys had been away.

I’d been able to sleep in and eat when I wanted. Watch television and read through the emails from my agent. Scripts of many kinds for upcoming jobs I might have a chance at. I didn’t want to work in any productions that were already established it just wasn’t me. I really liked the idea of starting something from scratch becoming a character that nobody had seen before, that they could form their own opinions on and not have any loyalty to any others in the show.

So far I hadn’t come across any I was interested in.

I’d arranged a meeting with Flora, my new agent over here. I thought it was silly to hold onto my American ties being over here and all. I would have to learn the British side of the biz if I was looking for any sign of hope over here.

“Jay, thank-you for coming.” She told me, after kissing both of my cheeks. I sat down in the seat across from her in this tidy office of hers. Everything was colour coordinated something I’d never been bothered to do in life.

“Well I thought it was about time we’d do this face to face.” I told her, as I rested my purse down in my lap.

“We should have done this sooner! I’ve been quite looking forward to meeting you like this.” She said just as she flicked through a folder that was sitting on her desk.

“Yeah maybe.” I laughed nervously.

“So let’s see what we have for you.” She took out various papers, and handed them over to me, each sheet had a different job description on them. I began to read through the many varied character profiles. None of them particularly tickled my fancy but they weren’t all that bad.

“Now, I’ve been saving this till last. It’s only just been announced yesterday so as soon as I read through the script I knew I had to show you.” Her smile was genuine but I didn’t quite know what it meant. She handed a document over to me, I skim read the contents  of the page and liked what I saw.

“Well?” she asked impatiently.

“I like it.” I told her, starting to smile. This was what I’d been looking for. I needed a new job, but of course me being my fussy self was holding out for the perfect one. Luckily I found it.

“Excellent, I shall book your audition ASAP.” And that was it. I left that office not long after that conversation. I didn’t head home straight afterwards, instead I went down to the local starbucks to treat myself for finally finding my next move.

“Name?” She asked me, to write it on my cup. I looked her in the eye, before telling her what my name was.

“Jay.”

Once my hot chocolate was given to me, I walked down the street back to where my car was parked. Cameras followed me but I didn’t pay them any attention. I was going home without any drama, I needed this job and I wasn’t letting anyone dampen my mood.

I quickly called Lou, but he never answered. Strange, I never thought that he would be asleep at a time like this.

“Come on Lou, answer.” I demanded, but he never answered. I decided I would just drive home. I could always call him later.

I drove into the courtyard of our gigantic house and parked the car into the multi car garage. Lou’s other three cars were all safe and sound beside mine. I shook my head at them. I never knew why he needed three of them. He could only use one at a time anyway.

My phone began to ring, I looked down at it. It was Lottie.

“Hey beautiful.” I answered.

“You sound joyous, what’s up?” she asked me.

“I just got myself an audition coming up.” I beamed with excitement. I was talking to her on the phone while I walked myself back towards the house.

“That’s excellent!” she squealed, hurting my poor ears.

“Have you told Lou yet?” she asked once she had settled back down.

“No, he wasn’t answering his phone, I’ll try again later.”

“Ahh I wish I was there to celebrate with you.”

“Me too, but hey next time you come to London we’ll go out for drinks or something. I have a nanny now so it’s so much easier to go out and about.”

“Oh so you like her now?”

“I wouldn’t go that far, but hey I’m fine with all the help.”

“Oh listen Jay, I hate to have to do this to you but I’m getting another call. I’ll call you back later.”

“Ohkay love you bye.”

“Love ya.” She ended the call and I headed to the front door.

Once I was inside I headed straight in to find Penny and my babies.

“Hello?” I called out,, after not being able to find them.

“Jay? Is that you?” the voice of Rebecca called out from the back room.

“Yeah wait there I’m coming.” I called following the sound of her voice.

“Okay.”

When I walked through the doorframe of that room what I saw wasn’t what I had been expecting. I didn’t know what to do, but there was one person who would. The one person who wouldn’t answer his damn phone! I had to keep trying, I needed to get through to him and QUICK.

HEY!! what do you think she saw?
