The Kiss

“Hey beautiful.” I whispered to Penny when I was back inside her room, she smiled at me lovingly as she now had her baby back in her arms.

“Have you decided on a name yet?” I asked her curiously.

She looked toward Niall he shook his head.

“Not yet.” She answered tiredly.   

“Um Penny how about you get some rest, and I’ll take Jay home to her boys? We’ll come back in the morning” Lou suggested, Penny looked sad yet grateful by his suggestion.

“If you’re sure” she says, but everyone in the room could tell that she was tired.

“Um, yeah.” I answered for him, tucking my hair behind my ears distractedly. I located my keys and hugged Niall and Penny goodbye.

“Thanks for coming!” Penny called out to us.

“Oh Lou, I nearly forgot, you left your phone on the seat before. Here you go.” I handed it to him without mentioning what I saw.

“Thanks babe,” he smiled as though he had nothing to hide. I never thought he would cheat and I didn’t think that either. I trust him of course; it’s just Marie whoever she is that I was uncertain about.

“We’re home.” Louis called when we got home. Rebecca was seated on the sofa reading some kind of romance novel when we walked in.

“Hey how’d everything go?” she asked straight away. Louis started to tell her everything, from the phone call to the plane ride, to the taxi and running around the hospital searching for us.

“Aw I can’t wait to meet her.” She was really excited, which was nice to see.

“She’s adorable.” I told her, before I turned to Lou. “I’m going to bed, see you both tomorrow.” I told them and turned to leave the room.

“I’ll be there soon” Louis called out to me, but I just wasn’t in the mood.

I washed my face in the bathroom sink, not feeling like having a shower, I changed my clothes and brushed my teeth I was getting ready for bed when Louis came in.

“Hey, you okay?” he asked concern on his face. He started taking his shirt off as soon as he’d shut the door.

“Yeah, just tired.” I said and he kissed me softly.

“Promise?” he asked as he ran in our bathroom to brush his teeth.

“I promise.” I climbed into my bed and fluffed up my pillows. It felt weird having a man in the house I was so used to sleeping alone, but now Louis was here and I didn’t know for how long. It didn’t take him long to hop into bed, he too skipped the shower and instead hopped straight into our bed where I already laid.

I turned off the lamp on my side, and he did the same on his.

“Jay” he whispered.

“Lou” I answered

“I love you.” He told me, my heart began to tighten, I loved him so much yet I didn’t know how to show it.

“I love you too.” I rolled over to face him, even though I couldn’t actual see him in the darkness. I felt his outline with my fingers searching for his face, I longed to kiss him, I needed to feel loved. I knew that he loved me but for some reason I needed him to show me.

“I thought you were tired” he chuckled, but I felt him move closer.

“I thought you were in America” I said back at him.

His hands made their way to my body and his mouth onto mine, I kissed him like I meant it, and he kissed me right back. I pulled him with all of my strength longing for his warmth. I could feel his heavy breathing and he could feel my heart pounding. I took in his scent, taste and touch with passion growing fierce.  I hadn’t felt like this in so long, it felt so wrong but so right. I loved my husband, I loved him so much.
