Jay's P.O.V

"He's going to be here soon!" I promised her, it was 7 hours passed since we'd first arrived here and the boys still hadn't shown up. I was curious as to what had happened to them. Penny was already 9cm, and freaking out over this all. I tried to call Lou but his phone was still switched off. I was so scared of having to do this by myself but there was nothing I could do.

"When's soon?" she screamed, squeezing my hand ever so tightly.

"I don't know, but it won't be too long." I assured her, not knowing if I spoke the truth or not.

"Jay, I'm scared." She admitted, and I looked down into those scared eyes of hers and I knew that no matter what I was going to have to help her through this.

"Can this taxi go any faster?" the Irish boy complained. I knew exactly what he was going through but there was no way that I was going to let him miss the birth of his first born.

"We'll get there in time mate, don't worry." I tried to calm him. He looked at my hand which was rested on his shoulder and smiled.

"Penny, It's time to push." The nurse told her, she looked at me panicked as soon as the words left the nurses lips.

"No, no, no, no. Not without him!" she yelled, she looked at me as if I had the magical powers to make time stand still.

"I'll call them one more time." I told her, and I dialled Lou's number.

"Hello?" he answered.

"Lou, where are you! Penny is already 10cm and the baby is just around the corner." I spoke at intense speed. Usain Bolt would be proud.

"Oh crap, we're down the road, I can see the hospital out the window, tell her to sit tight. No wait put us on speaker." I did as I was told and Niall began talking to her.

Her face immediately calmed, and even though she was in pain she still had the ability to smile.

"I'll running out of the taxi now." He told her, and I could hear his breathing as he was running. I opened the room door, so when they came up the stairs they'd be able to come straight in.

"Babe, I'm on your floor Lou has found your room now so I'll be there okay. Stay strong."

"I am strong." She repeated over and over.

"Jay!" Lou yelled as he'd seen me from across the hallway. He ran straight to me, Niall in tow.

"Babe." He rushed straight over to Penny, he held onto her hand and brushed the hair off her sweated face.

"I love you." He told her and she began to cry.

"No tears Penny, only happy tears are allowed." The nurse told her smiling.

"I am happy." She promised, I looked over to Lou who looked rather startled by the situation.

"Um Penny did you want us to stay?" I asked her nodding towards Lou.

She laughed slightly and shook her head. "Lou, you don't have to stay and watch if you're uncomfortable." He looked at me before heading out the door. His face had been quite pale when he was in the room so I didn't blame him.

"Okay Penny time to push."

She did as she was told, she pushed and she pushed as Niall held her hand and talked her through it. I of course was there for moral support and motivated her too, only I'm sure she was only paying attention to her husband. It wasn't long before the baby poked it's head out into the world and her proud daddy cut the cord.
