I hadn’t told my husband about the mysterious IM I had received from his sister I thought by doing this I was saving him from getting hurt if she decided not to turn up after all. My very own sister had been driving me up the wall with her constant chatter about how amazing her boyfriend was, which I didn’t especially need to know considering he was one of my best friends I didn’t need to hear how great of a talent he had at snogging now did I?

Lou was curled up on one of our lounges  and I was on my way to him when an idea hit me hard. What if I took Bec, Tamy, Penny and Lottie out for a girls night where I could find out whether Rebecca shared the way Harry felt. It seemed so obvious like I was stupid for not thinking of it before. I ran out of the room and straight to the kitchen where Tamy and Liam were snogging fiercely.

“Hey sister dearest tomorrow night you are having a break from all this tonsil hockey and we’re going out!” I announced and the lovers broke apart.

“Sure” Tamy looked slightly confused by my sudden enthusiasm and my new found interest to spend time with her after all the drama that had happened between us lately.

“Penny, Bec and Lottie are coming too.” I added before heading down the hall.

I knocked on Rebecca’s closed bedroom door, she opened nearly straight away her hair was a mess and she’d looked like she’d been crying.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her and she shrugged. I quickly allowed myself into her room, we both sat down on her unmade bed.

“My friends were meant to come and visit but they had to change their plans. I haven’t seen those girls in almost a year.” She wailed and I had to hold back my grin.

“Well how about I take you out on a girls night with Tamy and Penny tomorrow night, and you can’t say no because I already told them you were coming.” I ginned cheekily before she could protest. She nodded slowly and forced herself to smile.

“Yay!” I squealed, which reminded me of my old friend Lila.

“Thanks Jay, you’re a good friend.” She said sincerely before I got off the bed and left her room the way it was before I had entered.

----

“Jay!” my sister in law yelled across the courtyard the following morning. I had just been out for a run, my body was sweated and my hair was a mess yet there she stood on the front step with all her travel luggage beside her. I raced over to the gorgeous girl but didn’t risk putting my arms around her clean body.

“So good to see you!” I gushed and she blushed. I helped her quickly move her belongings to the front door and rang the bell. Harry was the one who answered it, his facial expressions changed when he saw our visitor.

“Does your brother know you are here?” he asked Lottie straight away.

“Course not, if he did he would have been waiting out the front all morning for me.” She giggled and I nodded in agreement.

“Where is he then?” she asked finally once her suitcase was standing still in the hallway.

“He’s with the boys” Harry answered and ran down the hall in search of him.

“Let the fun begin” I heard her mutter to herself but I didn’t dare ask her what she was talking about. I didn’t want to cause any sort of conflict.

“Hey baby sis, why are you here?” Lou asked her and instantly gave her a giant bear hug.

“Crushing me Lou.” She gasped for air. He let go of her and took a step back.

“Sorry”

“Wasn’t the first time” she pointed out and he started to look guilty.

“So um why are you here?” he asked her straight out.

“Wow sorry didn’t know I wasn’t welcome!” she joked and we all laughed.

“Um do you mind if I go and shower?” I asked her.

“Course not! Go and freshen up, we have plenty of time to catch up. I looked to Lou who looked almost worried before I scattered up the staircase. I really hoped that nothing bad was going to come out of this visit.

Once I had finished with my shower I made my way back down stairs to find Lottie and Louis in the kitchen drinking cups of tea together.

“Hey” I announced my presence the two of them looked at me and both smiled. Although they were wearing slightly different smiles, his was filled with worry and anxiety and hers was filled with genuine happiness and excitement. I wondered what was going on, and I needed to know.

“So I wanted to wait to tell you both after everything was settled in, but I just can’t take it anymore!” she burst out and we both stared at her in shock.

“What is it?” I asked and Lou laughed.

“I knew this wasn’t just a visit, you have something to say don’t you.” He asked her and she nodded sweetly.

“Guys, I’m getting married!” she announced loudly and proudly and you should have seen Louis’ face.
