Jay’s P.O.V
“Why’d you call Lou?” Penny screamed at me in pain. I looked at her shocked and confused, was she seriously angry at me?
“What’s he going to do from AMERICA?” she asked me in a shrieking tone.
“I, I wait. I don’t know! I panicked and they’re only six hours away. You’ll probably still be in labor by the time they get here anyway.” I know I wasn’t helping but it was true.
“AHHHH!” she screamed at me. I knew she wasn’t in pain at that very moment, the contractions weren’t constant yet, she was yelling at me out of panic and distress.
“I’m sorry.” I tried to calm her down, and stooped down to where she laid down on my carpeted floors.
“Let’s get you to the hospital shall we?” I asked her not really expecting an answer.
I grabbed hold of her hand, Rebecca and I helped her up off the floor. I knew I was going to have to go around to get the car, and knowing Lou it would have to be mine. Not that I was expecting the baby to be born on the drive but in case it happened I knew he wouldn’t want baby fluids ruining his leather interior.
“Jay do you think he will get there on time?” she asked me, I didn’t know what to say. I had faith in Lou, I knew he would try his hardest to bring his friend home on time but there was no way to know for sure.
“Lou will bring him home.” I told her, waiting by the door with Penny’s overnight bag. Rebecca had offered to bring around the car, she hadn’t said so but I had a feeling she wasn’t comfortable with the whole birthing thing.
“Here’s the keys.” She huffed, passing me my car keys. I’d never been the one to do the actual driving on a birth day. I’d always been the one giving birth.
“Let’s go.” Penny demanded. It was quite funny watching her so desperate to go to a hospital when every other time she had to go there she’d insisted that she hadn’t needed one.
“Okay, Okay. Rebecca I will call you. Please look after my boys.” She nodded her head and quickly ran back into the house to keep an eye on the boys.
“Here,” I said once she was buckled up. I passed her my phone and she looked at me confused. “Call Harry.” I instructed her, the reason why I said call Harry was because I knew if Louis was taking Niall home that he probably wasn’t going to answer his phone.
“Hello?” Penny said into the phone as I was already driving out the very long driveway.
“Put it on speaker.” I told her and she did so.
“Hey what are you doing calling me, shouldn’t you be having a baby or something?” Harry asked.
“Jay’s driving me to a hospital now. Where’s Niall?” she asked, I knew she was trying not to cry her shaking voice was only one of the clues.
“He’s right here, we’re on the way to the airport now, Lou has already booked the flight so he should be there very soon.” You could hear rustling in the background, as the phone was being passed around.
“Hi there.” The Irish accent brought a smile to the American girls face.
“Baby.” She started crying then.
“I’ll be there shortly, just hang on love.” He sounded very worried; it was hard to keep my eyes on the road as her crying was very distracting.
“I’m sorry, it’s not meant to happen like this.” She blubbered, and her husband laughed.
“It’s alright, everything will be fine. Jay will look after you don’t you worry about it.”
