The library of your town is a red brick building that sinks further and further into the ground every year because of the weight of the books. You volunteered there in high school and you think you might become a librarian after you finish your bachelor's degree and take a master's program in library science. You know which section to look for. Occult.

As you recall, the occult section had some stuff on demons.

The library also has computers if the books aren't helpful.

Since the town is small, some heads turn when you enter the building with Zeldris.

Some of the librarians whisper as you head up the stairs leading to the section you want. You select a book on demons and flip to the table of contents. Zeldris seems to be looking for something else and heads to a different section. You scan for a chapter that might help.

Names of demons? No.

Power structure? No.

Famous cults? No.

Summoning? That seemed promising. Maybe there would be a troubleshooting page?

You flip to the section. It's full of stories about disastrous summonings and cautionary tales, no doubt to discourage demon summoning, but you don't find anything about what to do when the instructions for a summoning aren't met.

You pick up another book and its table of contents yield nothing helpful.

You grab another and another and another and still there's nothing.

Soon a stack of books as tall as your hip lies on the floor and you have no new knowledge pertaining to your current situation.

You still don't know where Zeldris is, but the lights are flickering a bit, so you're pretty sure he hasn't found anything either and is just as frustrated about it as you are. You reshelve the books properly and head over to the computers.

You pull up google and enter "demon sacrifice troubleshooting."

You get a bunch of gaming sites. You type "demon summoning troubleshooting."

You get a wikihow article, an article on the best demons to summon, and more gaming sites. Seeing few options, you click on the wikihow hoping it might get into what to do when something goes wrong.

It's of no help.

You jump when a hand suddenly touches your shoulder.

"Any luck?" you ask, thinking it's Zeldris.

"I ran into you, I'd say it's my lucky day."

Oh no.

Not him.

You'd literally prefer a demon to him.

You tense.

What the hell was he doing in a library?

He rubs your shoulders and you cringe.

"How about we get out of here and go back to my place?"

Your skin crawls.

His breath is hot against your neck.

You had hoped to never see him again.

Your ex.

He kisses your neck roughly.

"I missed you," he growls.

"S-stop!"

He cops a feel while you're overwhelmed and you make a sound that's definitely a panicked no, but is concealed by a slight whimper and shallow frantic breathing.

He squeezes.

You try to ignore him as you log off, but he won't stop touching you and you can't leave fast enough.
