Seeing that Zeldris has taken his shirt off, the other demon sets you down beside him and disappears. Zeldris puts his shirt back on. You cover yourself with your hands but give up when your knees give out. You hold your head between your hands and sob.

"It was the only way I could think of to get him to put you down and leave you alone," says Zeldris.

He walks away from you and out of the room. He returns holding a set of clothes and wearing... your oven mitts? He grits his teeth and picks up the salt hula hoop. He places the clothes beside you before lowering the hula hoop around you. He winces as he removes the oven mitts. His hand is burnt.

"The hula hoop won't protect me from him," you say.

"But it can protect you from me. If I try to enter without your permission, I'll get burnt."

He sits beside the hula hoop and turns to give you what little privacy the current situation allows. You get dressed and step out of the hula hoop.

"Why would I need to protect myself from you?"

"You don't. But after what he did to you and seeing what I had to do to get you down, I thought it might... help."

You hug him. He seems surprised, but he hugs you back. You let go when you realize you should go get the first aid kit.

"How's your hand?" you ask.

"It'll heal."

He's hiding his hand. It must be bad if he's hiding it. You grab the first aid kit. He's sitting on your couch when you return.

"Can I see your hand?"

Reluctantly, he shows it to you. It's already blistered. You go back into the kitchen and wash your hands, then grab a mixing bowl and fill it with cool water. You set the water on the side table next to Zeldris.

"Put your hand in the water, it'll draw out the heat."

He hesitates.

"It's not holy water, it's just tap water."

He puts his hand in the water.

"You didn't have to burn yourself for me."

"I thought the oven mitts would help. I wanted you to feel safe."

You smile, "you already make me feel safe."

You wait fifteen minutes, then dry and dress the burn on Zeldris' hand. It's already looking better. You go to put away the first aid kit and collapse before you reach the kitchen. Was your shirt this wet a minute ago? You don't know, but suddenly everything goes black.
