You turn and see two people. They aren't gods, as far as you know, so you guess they must be demons. One is a young woman with long light-pinkish purple hair and the other is someone whose gender you can't identify as they are covered from head-to-toe in what looks like bronze-coloured armour.
"Uh... hi," you say.
"You're human, right?" the young woman asks.
"Yeah."
"Are you the human who was sacrificed to Zeldris?" the other asks, the deepness of their voice leads you to conclude that the armour-covered demon is probably a guy.
You nod, tense.
"You can't ask it like that, Galand. The human's probably traumatized enough as it is," the other demon turns to you, "is Zeldris alive?"
"Yeah, he's okay... a little frustrated that our plans keep failing but he's not in danger."
The young woman seems to relax a bit.
"Are you friends of his?" you ask.
"You could say that," Galand says.
"What have you tried so far?" the young woman asks.
"Zeldris killed the cultists who summoned him... and ate their souls, we did some research and couldn't find anything in the human world, then I tried summoning Pazuzu and when he didn't have any ideas on how to free us... Zeldris summoned his father."
"Which went badly," the young woman says."Yeah. My... my physical body is hurt, so the gods decided to bring me here or, well, if they didn't then Hecate knows I'm here and seems to approve."
The demons tense at the mention of Hecate's name.
"We don't want any trouble with her," Galand says.
"Here's what you need to try next, human. At the very least it might prevent the situation from getting worse while your gods argue with our king. Tell Zeldris that Melascula and Galand think the best course of action is to make sure none of his other cults try to summon him until this mess is resolved."
"I will. Can you think of any loopholes in the ritual that summoned him in the first place?"
"I'll poke around. I'm sure your gods are doing the same thing. Or, well, the ones who practise magic are anyway. I'll see if I can find something they might have missed."
"Thank you."
"Be careful, human. If you stay here too long, a different demon might try to eat your soul," Melascula's eyes don't seem to have any malice in them, but her statement is off-putting.
"I thought were weren't trying to scare the human," Galand protests.
"Warning the human of current danger isn't the same as scaring her by callously bringing up traumatic events."
"I'll keep your warning in mind," you say.
"You shouldn't stay down here much longer. Has the king touched you in any way?"
You flinch at the memory.
"I don't mean to pry. If he's touched you, he might notice your presence here a lot sooner, that's all. And you said your body was hurt... did he do it?"
You nod.
"You need to go."
