"Your father isn't exactly happy with him at the moment. Part of me wonders if his commandment will... well, let's hope your father hasn't thought to activate it."
"Is it that serious?"
She nods, "it is when multiple pantheons are involved. I've been trying to avoid drawing parallels between you and-- oh, hello Elizabeth, I didn't see you there."
"I... uh, I go by Lizzy, actually."
"Of course, dear. My mistake."
Lizzy gives you a what the fuck look.
Hecate clears her throat, "that being said, I have to admit there are similarities between the situation with y/n and Zeldris and, well, your situation, Meliodas."
"Then they're fu-- they don't stand a chance."
Did Meliodas just censor himself?
"What about my apprentice? Surely she's spent enough time around lawyers to have found a loophole in a ritual like this one."
"How can she find one in this ritual when she hasn't even..."
Lizzy looks just as confused as you are.
Meliodas continues, "even you couldn't help last time. What makes this ritual so different?"
Hecate ignores Meliodas' question and instead turns to you, "we're doing all we can, y/n, but the political situation is rocky at best. If a solution can't be found soon, some of the gods might choose to try a compromise of some kind and one that isn't exactly desirable."
"What kind of solution is it?"
"The Demon King has suggested that Estarossa take over the ritual. I'm sure that's not surprising to you since he tried to kill you earlier, but it's something I'm trying to get taken off the table and something you need to be aware of. This whole debate has even left the Ten Commandments split in where their loyalties lie."
"Who's on Zeldris' side?" Meliodas asks.
"Melascula and Galand as well as Derieri and Monspeet."
"Are all the rest choosing to side with the Demon King?"
"Gloxinia hasn't chosen a side. The rest are with Estarossa and the Demon King. Pazuzu?"
"Yes, my lady?"
"For the time being, I want you to remain here with y/n. Keep her safe."
"Ereshkigal needs me to--"
"I've spoken with her. I'm sending Circe to perform your duties while you stay here."
"As you command."
