You have not stopped being Merlin. Escanor has finished disposing of the bodies and is getting larger, stronger, and warmer by the minute. He tells you he plans to stay in the tomb until around one o'clock for the sake of everyone's safety. You agree that this is a wise decision. You're pretty sure y/n's apartment building isn't designed to withstand the amount of heat Escanor will be producing in a few minutes and you don't want to add homelessness to an already massive list of things she is undoubtedly worried about.

You teleport back to y/n's apartment with the book.

Y/n and Zeldris are conspicuously missing.

Good.

The sooner y/n falls for him, the sooner the conflict in the underworld can be resolved. Galand and Melascula glance over at you, briefly. The Captain doesn't even look your way. He just stares ahead while sitting on y/n's couch. No reaction at all. He's too accustomed to you teleporting into rooms unexpectedly when you don't feel like walking.

"Escanor decided to stay behind?" he says.

"He didn't want to melt the building."

Meliodas nods. Elizabeth, no, Lizzy is sitting on the opposite side of the couch. Galand is sitting between them and manspreading. Melascula is snacking on what looks like a human soul. You don't even want to ask where she got it.

You hold up the book.

"I got this from the site where Zeldris was summoned. It seems like he doesn't need any help from us when it comes to freeing himself from the ritual. He just needs time. The conflict in the underworld means that time is something that is not on our side."

"So how do we buy him some time?" Derieri asks.

You smile, "I'm glad you asked. What we need to do is cause a little chaos in the Demon Realm to delay any agreement between the gods and the Demon King. Those who are siding with the Demon King, and against Zeldris, won't be expecting their own warriors to turn on them. And in the meantime, I'll see if I can convince Eris to join us and cause a little chaos of her own."

The demons prepare to move out and you sneak over to Meliodas.

"In the meantime, Captain, we should warn Zeldris and y/n that most of us are headed to the Demon Realm to cause some chaos. They can't have gotten too far."
