You are now Zeldris. It has been a few hours since you and y/n set up the other tents. The two of you are currently curled up together in one of the tents. The noises from Derieri and Monspeet's tent have finally subsided. You and y/n had almost drowned them out for a little while, but a pair of demons can last much longer than a demon and a human can.
You're not sure how you feel about losing your commandment. On the one hand, the fact that people can turn their backs to you means that you and y/n can spoon without the curse activating. That's what you're doing now.
She's asleep and she's using one of your arms as a pillow. You can't sleep. For one thing, the comings and goings of the rest of the former commandments are too noisy for you to relax, and then there's your brain. Always moving. So much has happened. So many possibilities.
Your father is dead. If your home life had been healthy, maybe you'd feel the tiniest bit of sadness. But your home life was never healthy. That being said, you're not pleased about Meliodas taking the throne. With him in charge, the future of the demon clan is uncertain at best.
Y/n stirs. You pull her closer. She turns onto her other side. You lay on your back and gently move her so she's lying on your chest, then cover her with an unzipped sleeping bag. Absentmindedly, you rub small circles into the base of her neck. She snuggles closer. Then she starts snoring.
In spite of yourself, you bite your lip to keep from laughing. You wouldn't want to wake her, after all.
Estarossa, your brother, never existed. You were never close with him, and after how he treated y/n you shouldn't care, but you do. His death hits you more than your father's does. Not enough to elicit any mourning, but enough to be noticeable during a quiet moment like this one.
A snake slithers into the tent. She drapes herself over y/n naked and sleeping form, which is covered by the sleeping bag. Once she gets comfortable, the snake starts staring at you. You pet the snake's head. Melascula never did have any boundaries, but it doesn't bother you.
Galand crawls into the tent. It's a wonder he even fits. He flops over on the ground next to the air matress and grumbles something about a human park ranger having the guts to take his deer and fine him for going after a deer without a license or tags.
No time for self-pity, it seems. The tent is too crowded for private thoughts.
The lovebirds decide to join in on... whatever this is. Covered by sleeping bags, they stagger over to the tent and curl up together on the air matress after you nod to them to give them permission.
Your eyelids are heavy.
For once, your mind is quiet.Your birth family may be terrible, but your found family is safe.
You drift off into a dreamless sleep.
