The Graveyard (Zeldris x Female Reader)

Part 34

There's a knock on the door just as Ban says goodbye to Meliodas, promises to catch up with him soon, then leaves the room in a haze of flame and plumes of white smoke. You rise and go over to open the door as Meliodas goes for his sword. Lizzy gives Meliodas a look, but Meliodas doesn't notice as he's too busy staring at the door. You glance over at Hecate, then Pazuzu. Hecate is watching Meliodas intently. Pazuzu seems fairly relaxed, so you open the door. Zeldris is standing there flanked by Galand and Melascula. You hug him and he hugs back. He's so warm and his touch is so gentle. He lifts you and carries you back into your apartment where he tenses immediately at what you assume is the sight of his brother, but he says nothing to him. He seems to be more focused on you. Though he's tense, he doesn't drop you. Instead, he carries you over to the couch and places you gently on a cushion before he sits down beside you. You rest your head on his shoulder and he wraps his arm around you.

"Melascula and Galand filled me in on what happened--"

"I'm guessing you're Zeldris?" Lizzy asks.

Zeldris' expression becomes much colder, but he nods. "Elizabeth," he says. His tone is polite, but he's visibly cold towards her and every so often he glares at Meliodas.

Lizzy rolls her eyes, "it's Lizzy." She looks over at you, "seriously, why has everybody here been using my full name? And how does everyone know it? It's kinda freaking me out."

You smile. "Do you remember when we did that tarot reading and found out you have like four hundred past lives?"

"Yeah?"

"Maybe these guys know you from some of your past lives."

"It's still weird."

Zeldris and Meliodas stare each other down. Zeldris' face takes on a mean-looking smirk and you tense up when you see it. Hecate clears her throat and both demons look over at her. Zeldris tenses at the sight of her, but Hecate gives him a fond, if somewhat teasing smile.

"Not even a greeting for your godmother, Zeldris? I'm almost insulted."

"Sorry, it's been a rough--"

"I know all about it. Did you think one of my humans could keep something this big from reaching me?"

"Of course not I--"

"The underworld is in chaos. Four separate pantheons not to mention the entire demon race are all in one place trying to decide what to do about this situation and some of the ideas your father has come up with... some of the ideas Zeus has come up with... well, I won't frighten y/n with the details of the less likely ones since the poor girl has been frightened enough, but we're going to have a nice long chat about it later. You won't need to worry about y/n. Pazuzu has agreed to keep her safe until this mess is resolved."

Zeldris nods and says nothing.
