You're yourself again. You wake up in the morning in the middle of a snoring pile of demons. Zeldris is already awake and he's staring at you. Seeing that you're awake, he gives you a sleepy smile. He kisses your forehead.

"Morning," you whisper.

"Morning," he says.

The door to the tent unzips. Your heart thuds in your chest. Everyone who was sharing the campsite with you and Zeldris is in the tent; who could be coming in?

Almost in answer to the question in your head, a blond head pokes through the thin fabric of the tent's unzipped door.

"Zeldris," Meliodas says in a stage whisper.

"What?"

"I need to speak with you and Galand outside."

Zeldris grumbles, but after he puts on a pair of shorts he wriggles out from under the other demons so he can crawl towards the door. He shakes Galand's shoulder until the larger demon stirs.

"What is it?" Galand asks, groggy.

Zeldris gestures towards the door. He mouths his brother's name. Galand rolls his eyes, but follows Zeldris out of the tent. You try to sit up, but Melascula rolls and pins you back down onto the air mattress. She's still out cold. You can't hear the conversation over someone, you're pretty sure it's Monspeet, snoring.

Derieri snaps awake, but Monspeet pulls her close. She gives you a look.

"What's going on?" you whisper, "can you hear anything?"

She shakes her head, then elbows Monspeet in the chest, waking him. She raises a finger to her lips.

"--completely unacceptable."

You're pretty sure that voice belongs to Meliodas.

"I've killed thousands of humans but you suddenly have a problem with me wrestling a bear and killing a deer?"

That voice is definitely Galand's.

"Yes. For my plan to work, I need everyone to act like law-abiding citizens."

"And what exactly is your plan?" That's Zeldris. He sounds irritated.

"I don't answer to you."

"Galand, give us a minute."

"I'm not done with him."

"We can return to this later."

Your chest feels tight. You don't like the tones being used. You're worried that Meliodas might hurt Zeldris or the others even though you realize that's stupid... or is it?

Galand comes back into the tent. Derieri raises a finger to her lips. He nods.

"So you're undermining me."

"Do you expect me to sit quietly and let you remove me from my position as Father's second in command and demote me to... what, some lord? Do you expect me to stand idly by and allow you to strip me of my commandment without giving me a reason?"

"You didn't seem to mind not having the commandment of piety last night when you were spooning with y/n."

"You leave her out of this."

There's something dangerous in Zeldris' voice. Your chest hurts. You try to steady your breathing, but you can't seem to take a full breath. You stare at your hands, trying to distract yourself from the rising voices. Your hands are shaking so badly. Melascula sits up. She's studying your face. You're trying not to have a panic attack.
