"Were here" She announced as they were on the steps of the big church. She pushed open the doors. The hallways were warm like always. He was a bit amazed.

Maybe he's never been inside an Institute? She thought.

"They must be in the library. Come I'll take you." She said grabbing his hand and pulling his towards the library.

As she had said they were all in the library. She opened the big double doors and stepped in with Evan behind her.

"Evan. These are the Lightwoods, your family ." She said looking up to him.

He was as white as paper. Evan had this weird look on his face that really seemed funny. Clary cleared her throat and that seemed to snap him to reality.

He scratched his neck awkwardly and cleared his throat. Evan looked down at Clary and smiled.

"Um... Hi. I'm Evan. Evan Trueblood." Evan waved his hand awkwardly and stuffed it into his pockets.

Clary looked amongst the group

Of people that were in the library. She noticed one angry Jace - more like a jealous Jace- A confused Simon, A smiling Isabelle, and a shocked Maryse. Maryse was as white as paper. Her eyes glossy with tears.

"This is Jace Herondale, Isabelle Lightwood and Simon Fairchild. And Maryse Lightwood." She said pointing to her friends.

He nodded and looked eyes with Maryse who was his aunt. She cleared her throat and looked away.

" Please leave. I need to talk to our new guest. Alone." She said her mouth set on a thin line. Know one protested, they just got up and left without a sound. Clary looked up to Evan who was looking down at her. She smiled and he smiled too.

"When your dine come find me. I'll take you on a tour." Clary said grinning.

As soon as the big double doors closed. Maryse let out the breath she was holding. She looked up at her nephew and started to sob. He hurried to her side and wrapped his big arms around her holding her head close to his chest. So she could calm down listening to the steady beat of his heart.

"Evan. Tell me is it true are they really gone. Tell me!!" She screamed breaking yet again into sobs.

Just a few hours before. She had received a call from the Clave, telling her that there had been an attack in Idris and that the Inquisitors manor house had been burned to the ground. Robert had told her that he had meet her brother,Maxwell, and that they had been living in the manor for a few weeks now.

She had tried to contact the Hall of Accords and ask for her husband and brother, but they weren't there. Later in the day they said they were going to send someone to deliver the news. She had known when she saw Evan that they were gone.

"I'm so so so sorry auntie May. I really am." He said while rubbing her head.

They stood there for minutes until she calmed down and fell asleep. He took her in his arms and set her down gently on the sofa. He sat there gently caressing her face. The tears still falling down her cheeks. She started shaking uncontrollably. Evan stood up and got her a blanket. He placed the blanket gently over her shaking body. He sat down on the floor looking at the blazing fire on the fireplace.
