boys like you-anna clendeningI was sitting on the couch in Nolan's apartment. Now only Nolan's apartment. Travis decided to just move to his own place since one opened up just down the hall.
I had two finals this morning, but now I was just studying for tomorrow. It was my last one and I've never been more excited to be on break ever.
"Do you have anymore exams today?" Nol asked from beside me.
"Nope, my last one is tomorrow at 11," I smiled.
"I'm sure you'll ace it," he smiled. "But does that mean you can make it to the game tonight?"
"Of course. I'll be there," I kissed his cheek.
Ever since Sunday, it was Wednesday, when he asked me to be his girlfriend, we've been in a kind of "honeymoon phase." We've been together for over two months but I think that when he asked it kind of lit a spark in our relationship. We haven't fought once all week. Which might be unhealthy, but I'm sure we'll get in some kind of argument soon.
Nolan's hair was messy and he only had a pair of shorts on, one of my favorite outfits on him.
"When do you leave for Montreal?' I asked after a few minutes.
"Friday. Flight leaves at 6:30," He responded, not looking up from his phone.
"Do you get back on Sunday?" I asked, wondering when he should come meet my family.
"Probably," He mumbled, still not taking his eyes off of his phone, "I'm gonna go take shower before I have to go, be back in ten."
I just sat on his couch, burying my head in my textbook and reading over my notes for my exam. I was so distracted by the buzzing of his phone, but I didn't want to be one of those girlfriends that goes through his phone. I trust his phone and it was probably just Travis asking him questions.
After it buzzed a fourth time, I decided to check just in case Travis was in some kind of emergency that I could help with, like not being able to tie his tie, but it wasn't Travis. It was Rachel. Or according to his contact, "Rach :)."
"Are you still coming this week?"
"When does your flight from Montreal leave?"
"Are you still planning on staying with me?? or with your parents???"
"Nol answer me"
I quickly snapped a picture of it on my phone and put his phone back as I head him open his bedroom door. He walked out, wearing a grey suit with his hair still damp from the shower. I quickly packed up my things and put my backpack on.
"I'm gonna go back to campus, see you at the game." I said quietly, heading towards the door.
"I can drive you? I'm going to Wells Fargo anyway."
"It's the opposite direction, I called and Uber. I'll see you after the game."
I didn't call an Uber. I just walked home with my hood up, the bitter wind biting my cheeks. I didn't cry but the wind definitely made me tear up a bit. The forty-minute walk wasn't too bad. I was just sulked in my own thoughts playing in my head as I listened to sad music.
