Center City, Philadelphia"I love you," Nolan said to me, just waking up as I was sitting on my phone.
"I love you too, Nol."
I sat up in the bed, standing up to put my bra and underwear on.
"Love your ass, too," He called, sitting up to smack my backside lightly. I blushed and smiled, leaning over to pick up my clothes.
After getting my clothes on, I sat down onto the bed and pressed shuffle on my playlist, just to eliminate the silence. I Was Made For Loving You by Tori Kelly and Ed Sheeran came on first.
"Aw! I love this song!" I squealed. Nolan looked over to me, setting down his phone and looking up at the ceiling to listen. I quietly sung along to it, burying my head into Nolan's neck.
Once it ended, I looked up to Nolan for his approval. He was looking at me in the most loving way I've ever seen from him.
"I like the song, but, why didn't I know you could sing?"
My cheeks went red and I sunk down under the covers. I don't sing around many people for the sole reason of just being too shy when they talk about it. Both of parents can sing, it just runs in the family.
"I don't know. I guess it just never came up," I shrugged, looking through my music to find another song.
"Well, I think it's sexy," Nolan grumbled, pressing his lips onto my neck. I leaned my head back to reveal more of my skin.
"What do you want to do today?" I asked him, his head still buried in my neck.
"Honestly, all I want to do right now is lay in bed and do nothing," He said as he flopped down onto the bed.
"We need to do something. It's not good to sit in bed all day," I said, snuggling into Nolan's chest, "We could go get some food."
"But we can't be naked in public," Nolan pouted. I slapped his cheek playfully and he returned it by squeezing my ass. That's one of my favorite things he does.
I smiled and bit my lip, "Do it again."
He chuckled and slid both of his hands onto my backside, pulling me into his lap. I laid my head on his chest and my hands found his hair, massaging his head.
"That feels so good," Nolan mumbled.
We sat in bed for awhile, not doing anything in particular.
"We should go get some food soon. I'm hungry and I have to go to the office later to get some work done," I said.
"I don't want to get out of bed," He groaned, rolling on top of me to keep me from getting up.
I pushed him off me, attempting to leave, but the second I sat up, Nolan grabbed my waist and pulled me back.
"Nolan, seriously, we need to get out of bed or we never will," I scolded.
"What if I do this?" He whispered, sliding his hand across the waistband of my underwear, "Or this," He added, slipping his hand beneath the fabric.
"Don't start this, you know we won't be able to stop," I stated.
"I know exactly what I'm doing," Nolan said seductively. I shivered at his touch and ground my hips into his.
"No, really, I'm so hungry and I have to get things done today. You are not helping."
It took a long time, but I finally got Nolan out of bed and we headed to the Chipotle that was three blocks from my apartment.
"You know you don't need to work, right?" Nolan asked once we had sat down with our burritos.
"What do you mean?"
"I'll buy you anything you want. You don't need to have a job."
"Nol, I know that you're generous, but I love my job. I also didn't go to four years of college for nothing," I responded.
"It just seems like your work stresses you out so much. I just want you to know if it's ever too much, tell me," He said.
"Every job is stressful. I mean, look at you. You're always stressed out over games and traveling. It's normal and it's worth it to me. I love to see their smiles at the events."
"I'll talk to Fletch about having some event with team or something. I think it would be adorable," Nolan said, taking a giant bite of his burrito.
"Woah, slow down there buddy. You could choke," I joked. Nolan tolled his eyes and continued chewing his food.
"Tell me about your job, I feel like we never talk about it."
"Well, basically. I just organize fundraisers and event for kids and young adults with down syndrome and autism. We do things like go to the zoo, or staying the weekend in Great Wolf Lodge. Then, in the summer we have camps all over the country on college campuses. We get teenage volunteers for counselors and each camper is assigned a counselor for the week. They do everything together. It's actually amazing to see the connections between the campers and counselors. I love it so much, I could never give this up."
I couldn't help but smile talking about. It warms my heart to see the smiles and laughs throughout the camps. One of my best friends growing up had down syndrome, so when I was chosen my major I knew I wanted to do something like this. After college, I found this job and I knew that I had to apply.
"You're amazing," Nolan said, looking at me with a smile dancing on his lips.
"You're amazing-er," I laughed.
"I might not be as educated as you, but I don't believe that is a word."
"It is now."
