Center City, PhiladelphiaWe've been back from Mexico for three days now, and let me just say, it's fucking cold. But in better news, the Flyers won on Monday night and last night. We now have a five game win streak and I'm so happy for them. The season started out pretty rough so having these five wins has really boosted their confidence.
I'm currently sitting in Nolan's apartment alone, doing homework. He's supposed to be back any minute so I thought I'd surprise him.
I heard the keys jingle behind the door. I put down my my pen and sat up, seeing a very exhausted Nolan walk through the door.
His eyes were glued to his phone and as he put his bag down, he looked up and saw me, jumping a bit.
"Fuck, Fi. You scared me," He said, sighing and walking over to me.
"I thought I'd surprise you," I smiled, placing my hands on his broad shoulders and his hands found my waist.
He leaned in for a kiss, his fingers toying with the hem of my crop top. Even though it's so cold, this is his favorite shirt of mine, so I decided to wear it.
"Oh! Sydney wanted to FaceTime me! I totally forgot," I pulled away from the kiss, his lips hitting out in a frown, "It won't take long. I promise."
I scrolled through my contacts, finding my sister's contact and clicking on the FaceTime emblem.
"Hey, girl! What are you up to?" She said enthusiastically, her husband Brandon sitting on the couch next to her.
"I'm just doing homework at Nolan's," I responded, quickly shifting the view to him, "What about you guys?"
"I have something to tell you..."
I widened my eyes, tapping Nolan to look up from his phone, having a feeling about what she was about to say.
"I'm pregnant!"
"Oh my god, you're kidding!" I shouted, a wide grin spreading across my face.
"Nope. And it's a girl!" Sydney stated.
"Who knows?" I asked excitedly.
"Only you. We're gonna go home this weekend and tell mom and dad and Brandon's parents."
"I'm so honored! Aw, that's so exciting! When is she due?" I asked.
"April 19th,"
"You've hid this from me for five months?! Wow, Syd. I didn't think you had it in you!"
Sydney is my older sister. She's now 27 and she and Brandon have been trying to have a baby since they got married two years ago. I also have an older brother who's 24, Blake, a sister who's 17, Lily, and twin brothers who are 15, Jake and Tommy. Yeah, Catholics don't believe in contraceptives.
We talked for a few minutes but I could tell Nolan was getting tired so I told them I had to go.
"I have a class in thirty minutes, I'm gonna take an Uber back to campus."
"No, let me drive you," Nolan said, laying down on the couch and closing his eyes.
"Nol, you're exhausted. I can't make you do that," I said, running my fingers through his hair.
"I don't want you in some creepy guy's car," He said, his eyes still closed.
"I'll be fine. I'm gonna come back after my class anyway, and that way you can get a nap in before I get back," I argued.
"Just drive my car then, I'm not going anywhere," Nolan offered. I mentally debated whether I trusted myself in his fancy Ranger Rover.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yup," He said, sitting up and handing me his keys, "Oh, get some gas too," He handed me two twenties.
"I will, but I'll pay for it. It's fine."
"No you won't," Nolan argues, stuffing the twenties in my back pocket and slapping my ass.
I have him a goodbye kiss, walking down to the parking garage and hopping into the luxurious black car.
The drive to campus was nerve racking but I luckily didn't crash. The speakers are very high quality, though. And I may or may not have blasted Justin Bieber for the entire fifteen minutes.
My class was boring as ever. Going back to classes has been pretty difficult after my six-day break in paradise. I went back to my room, got some homework done and by the time I was headed back to Nolan's, it was almost eight o'clock. That drive was dedicated to Dan + Shay.
I unlocked Nolan's door, not seeing him in his previous spot on the couch. I slid off my shoes, hanging my coat on the hook and placing his keys on the counter.
I wandered into the bedroom, finding Nolan passed out in his bed. I climbed in, slightly waking him up.
"Sorry," I whispered, tangling my feet in his and snuggling into his chest.
His arm wrapped around my body, his warm hand sliding underneath my t-shirt, well, Nolan's t-shirt, and began to trace circles on the skin of my waist.
Before I knew it, I was fast asleep.
