Kennedy's POV
A group of people opened the gate for me and Bellamy as we returned to camp. It was pitch black in the sky and the fire illuminated the camp at the centre. One of Bellamy's minions ran up to him, looking frantic.
"The Grounder has gone!"
"What do you mean gone?" Bellamy asked, looking confused.
"Gone. Vanished. Disappeared. Zoe went up to check everything was fine like you said and he had gone," he spoke. "What is the Grounders want revenge?"
"Let them," Bellamy answered firmly. "Everyone! I have news"
Members of the camp gathered round where Bellamy and I were stood, murmuring about what it is that has happened.
"We no longer have to fear the Grounders!" Bellamy announced, causing more murmuring.
"Why?" someone in the crowd shouted.
"Because, we now have guns," Bellamy answered, taking what he claimed as his rifle out of his backpack. People began shouting and crowding round more but Bellamy hushed them.
"Remember. These aren't toys. Only specific gunners will be allowed to use them and we only have a limited amount of bullets so don't waste them. And when the Ark comes down, we have to surrender them to the Guard," I announced, seeing a few people roll their eyes. No-one ever listened to me.
"Kennedy is right. Training starts tomorrow!" Bellamy shouted before telling the group to disband. I stood still, watching the group of teenagers talking about what just happened.
"Come on Ken, let's go put these in the dropship," Bellamy said, following the plan we created at the factory. I listened to him and started walking next to him towards the dropship.
"They're never going to listen to me are they?" I asked him, frustrated.
"Yes they will Ken. They are just excited and don't like being given rules," he responded but I shrugged him off. I couldn't help but think that that was his fault. The whole whatever the hell we want crap had really screwed us for any sort of leadership from the start. Reaching the spot in the dropship we said we'd hide the guns, we lay the 10 spare guns down safely. I went to put the gun that was mine on the walk here down but Bellamy grabbed my wrist, stopping me.
"That's yours Ken," he said.
"But we said that I'm not a gunner?" I questioned him.
"No, but I trust you to have a gun at all times. I want you to help be in charge of building the wall and now people will definitely listen to you," he answered my question. I was still wary but picked back up the gun, putting the strap over my shoulder.
"Do you think it will be OK to talk to Jaha tonight?" Bellamy asked suddenly as I placed the floor panel over the remaining guns. "I mean, Clarke's been asking me for days and I think, after everything, that I might be ready."
I couldn't stop the smile from spreading across my face. "Definitely. Come on, we'll go find Clarke," I replied excitedly.

Inside the communications tent, Clarke and Bellamy were on a video call with Chancellor Jaha. I was sitting next to Bellamy, just off screen, and was watching his face. Bellamy turned to look at me for a second, his face full of nerves, and I shot a comforting smile back at him. He turned back to the screen and Clarke continued to compliment Bellamy on his leadership skills. Everything she was saying was true. She finished speaking and the three of us waited for a response.
"Bellamy Blake, you are pardoned for your crimes."
I beamed and I watch Bellamy begin to smile. I could see him relax and I was so proud we had got to this point. Clarke then gestured for us to leave whilst Bellamy did his part of the deal, giving information about Shumway.
"Thank you Clarke," I said, hugging her tightly. I know this must be a relief for her as well, knowing her co-leader is pardoned.
"It's no problem. Glad I could help," she responded as I pulled away. She seemed a little off but Clarke's mind was usually elsewhere nowadays. Finn began to approach us and I smiled at him, but he didn't return it.
"What's up?" I asked, confused.
"Why did you bring guns to camp?" he asked, crossing his arms.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Because we need protection," I trailed off, not wanting to state the obvious.
"Guns aren't protection. We need a treaty. What happens when we run out of bullets? What happens if someone steals a gun? Gets angry at someone in camp and shoots them?" He shot questions at me, not giving me enough time to think.
"Bellamy and I-" he cut me off.
"Exactly. Bellamy and you. You should have come back with the clothes and blankets and told us what you found. Then we could have made a group decision on whether we need them or not," Finn shouted.
"We NEED them! The Grounders could attack at any minute with spears and swords. Now we have some weapons," I tried to fight back.
"People will misuse them,Kennedy."
"I trust Bellamy!" I shouted, trying to match his volume.
"I don't. Why are you so stupid and naive?!" he spat. I stopped arguing with him. At that moment Bellamy came out of the communications tent and looked between me and Finn. He clearly heard the whole argument. Clarke stood awkwardly next to Finn, twiddling with her thumbs.
"What did you say Finn?" Bellamy asked him, stepping between Finn and I. I saw his hands start to turn into fists and I shivered nervously. Now wasn't the time for a fight between two of the most influential people in camp.
Finn didn't answer his question, just spoke his mind. "You and your twelve year old groupie are going to get us all killed," he said, walking off. I saw Bellamy's shoulders shake with rage and he looked as if he was about to go after Finn. I grabbed his wrist with my hand and rubbed my thumb against his hand in attempts to calm him.
"Clarke?" Bellamy asked, turning to her. She just looked at the floor.
"I'll go calm him down," she said and turned to walk in Finn's direction, only to see him with Raven. She then headed the other way.
"It's fine Bell," I said, stepping closer to him.
"It's not. He can't talk to you like that!" Bellamy replied, turning away from where Finn had been stood and looking at me.
"Why not? Because I'm a baby?" I mocked.
"No Ken. Because you're mine," he muttered. His hand moved to my face and his thumb moved back and forth against my cheek. He then glanced around before leaving a light kiss on my lips.
"Look, I didn't like the way he spoke to you either. Let's just leave it for now and we can talk about it in the morning?" I suggested and Bellamy just nodded. I could tell he still wasn't over this but he didn't seem angry anymore.
"Come on. Let's get a drink. We have some news to celebrate," I smiled, dragging him to where we kept the whiskey.
A/N
Thought this was kind of cute and shows how Bellamy and Kennedy stand up for each other. Bell and Ken are all cute now but wait until the next chapter where there is some trouble brewing in paradise.
