"Becky, I'd like you to meet the new student, Antonio Scarpacci." Brian introduced me to Antonio. "He's an exchange student and living at our house." By our, He meant his and Joe's.
"Hi, Antonio. I'm Becky Donaldson." I shook his hand.
"Hello, Becky." He had curly black hair and a cute Italian accent. "How's it going?"
I nodded, thinking. "Good....good. And you?"
"Eh.."
"Oh. Well, Antonio. Brian and I are going out tonight, wanna join us?" It was a Thursday, but we had a three day weekend. Behind Antonio, Brian was making hand gestures, signifying 'no'.
"I'd love to."
"Good! We'll have dinner, then, and drop you off at the Hackett's afterwards."
"Thank you, Becky."
"You're welcome."
"Antonio, why don't you go on ahead and I'll catch up with you?" Brian asked.
"Okay." Antonio left.
"Becky!"
"What? We're gonna but him dinner, that's all. He's not gonna come to get ice cream or anything like that."
*******
Well, plans can change. Brian and I didn't have enough money for ice cream after dinner, so we were forced to stay in Brian's room for a while, talking to Antonio.
I learned that he is from Italy (like no one could tell), he has a big family, he's always wanted to visit the states, he likes the finer fashions, but never has enough money to buy some.... I sorta tuned out after awhile. This Italian was cute, nice, and seemed respectful. But he was such a talker!
"An-Antonio." Brian interrupted. "Becky an I'd like some alone time."
"Oh." He looked at me.
"Maybe I'll see you at the mall some time. We can grab a burger or whatever."
"Good. I guess I'll go to my room and read." He got up and walked out as I called out, "Have fun!"
"Why-Why-Why are you being so nice to him?" Brian asked.
"He's a sweet guy! Now, come on. I didn't go on this date to be with Antonio. I came to be with you."
Brian smiled and kissed me. While we shared a kiss, he kept fiddling with my dress zipper. I thought it was a little strange, but, hey. As long as that thing stayed on, it didn't matter to me.
Suddenly, I heard my zipper being unzipped. I pulled away from his kiss and slapped Brian in the face. I walked out of his room and slammed the door. Angrily, I walked down the steps. Halfway down, Joe and Helen (they were going steady, yay! I knew they were right for each other) were coming upstairs.
"Hey, Becky. Aren't you on a date with Brian?" Joe asked, unaware of what had happened.
I looked at his closed door. "That skum bucket? No!" I stormed outside and closed my zipper.
"Becky! Becky, wait!" Brian calles after me.
I stomped back to him. "No! You said you respected my opinions and my beliefs! But you don't!"
"Yes, I do."
"No! You don't! If you did, you wouldn't have tried to unzip my dress! You know that I believe you have to be married in order to have sex! We're not even close to being married! Not to mention we're only 15!"
"I'm 16." Brian said, being an idiot.
"Ugh!!" I stormed away, not looking back.
Once I got home, I slammed my door, flung myself on my bed, and cried. I cried and cried. I fell asleep that night in my dress, hating Brian.
