CHAPTER TEN
"Yes?"
"Someone can't wait to see you, princess!"
"Come on up!"
I jumped excitedly as I rushed to open the door. Not a minute later, Angus had already arrived. I could feel my face illuminating the very same moment that my eyes were set on my beautiful dog.
Angus froze on the spot for a moment, as if he was contemplating if what he was seeing was true. He was taking a step forward, and then a step back, not moving from the spot he was when he saw me.
"Angus! Come to mommy!"
Angus let out a loud whine, mixed with excitement and happiness as he finally ran towards me, tackling me to the ground. I wrapped my arms around him and started tussling his fur as he was spreading kisses all over my face, happily dancing on the spot all over me.
"I missed you too boy! You have no idea how much I missed you! I'm so sorry I had to leave you baby!"
"What about me, princess? Did you miss me a little?"
A husky voice caught my attention. I didn't need to see his face to know to whom it belonged. My smile spread even wider as I caught a glimpse of Dante casually dressed, keeping a hand into his jeans pocket while leaning on the wall.
"Nah, not so much," I smirked as I continued scratching Angus's ear.
"Liar," he murmured as he chuckled.
I placed my hand out and bit my lip playfully. Dante shook his head raising a mocking eyebrow and moved towards me to help me up. My hand suddenly felt too small into his.
I pulled him into my embrace, squeezing him tightly. I could almost feel his heartbeat beating faster against me. His perfume was wrapping me into a sweet numbness.
I cleared my throat and pulled back, breaking the chain of thoughts that were starting to consume my brain. Even if we had broken our embrace, Dante's hands were still resting on my hips.
"Hey," I said once again, smiling almost nose to nose with him.
"Hey," he replied, his eyes wandering from my eyes to my lips in a tantalizing matter.
"Jeans look good on you..." I grinned, raising an eyebrow. "It's a rare sight."
"Everything looks good on me, sweetheart."
"Wow, cocky!"
We both bursted out laughing to our stupid little conversation as I pulled him inside the apartment but I knew he was right. Those twins could wear pretty much anything and they would still look like a million bucks...
"I really missed your sassy remarks, princess. I couldn't stop worrying, thinking about you. Having Angus bothering José was a very pleasant reminder of you..."
My heart warmed up at the thought. I could see Angus harassing José all around the penthouse and Dante, with his hair standing on end, running behind them like a mad man trying to stop them.
"You know I've missed you too, Dante... but you didn't even come once to see me."
"I know, princess and I'm sorry I didn't. Work got really hectic. And let's face it, Joshua has nothing on you... he made my life really hard!"
"Aren't you exaggerating a little? Besides I'm sure that he wouldn't mind that... making it really hard, I mean..."
"Jesus, S! Seriously now?"
