After the opening band finished their set and the stage was reset for Thirty Seconds to Mars, Reni began to escort us to the stage area where we'd be able to watch them perform. The girls and I were towards the very back and as we approached, I was really concerned the girls weren't going to be able to see a thing. There weren't any bleachers to stand on, we were literally standing in one big group. If you were towards the back, like we were, you'd have to jump up and down if you wanted to see anything.
"Auntie Vivie, I can't see anything but butts." Lily pouted.
That was such a Lily comment, I chuckled.
"Yeah, I know." I sighed as I looked around for Reni.
I remember my father always telling me that 'there's never any harm in asking, the worst thing you can hear is no.'. So, with that in mind, I thought that the next time I saw Reni, I'd ask her if there was a spot with a better view just for the girls. I wouldn't mind sitting them down and out of the way then standing in the back myself. I just wanted this to be amazing for them and since they were the only children on stage tonight, I thought that it may be a possibility.
"Maybe we can go stand over there," Kenzie pointed, "It's more on the side."
"Yeah, maybe that would be a better view."
Looking around again, I saw Reni walking towards us.
"You guys can follow me."
"Oh, okay." I said, obviously surprised since I hadn't even had a chance to say anything.
We followed her as she walked around the black curtain to the front of the stage.
"You guys can stand here," she said, taking us on the other side of the barrier, "this way you can see."
We had everybody's attention now. Reni had put us outside of everyone else and not only that but also at the very front of them too.
"This is so great, thank you so much!!" Kenzie squealed.
Kenzie was especially elated since she could literally see everything. Lily was the party pooper...again.
"I can't see Shannon AT ALL!" she cried. "Not even a little bit."
I swear, sometimes I think it's just about impossible to make this kid happy. Ignoring her, I turned to Reni.
"You didn't have to do this but thank you."
"It's fine. Jared wanted to make sure the birthday girl got a great view."
Kenzie was smiling ear to ear at that but she seemed to be the only one and I was glad she didn't notice. Despite being only thirteen, the fan girls were not pleased in the least. I could see the obvious chatter amongst them as they spread the word we were receiving more special treatment but there wasn't anything I could do about it. The fact was, we were.
"If you need anything, let me know." Reni told us before she walked away.
The girls ended up sitting down on the stage as we watched the crew rushing around to get everything ready. It's pretty amazing to see all the inner workings. There's so much happening behind the scenes.
"Wow, Auntie Vivie, look at that!" Paige said in awe as she pointed to the audience.
"Wow is right."
The view from the stage was absolutely astonishing. All you could see were a sea of people, some holding signs and some flags. There were even people already on each other's shoulders in the pit.
