We lined up with everyone else but this time, we definitely were not anywhere near the front. In all the excitement over Jared, the girls weren't moving all that fast but as we found our place, they didn't even mind we were towards the back of the line."Okay guys," Reni began, "I need to go over a few rules before we get this party started..."
Reni began going over the do's and don'ts which were so specific in nature that they must have had to deal with some pretty interesting situations in the past.
"No kissing, no grabbing anyone's butt..." she laughed then totally straight faced said, "because you WILL be asked to leave."
Everyone laughed and at first I thought it was a joke but it clearly wasn't. She was absolutely serious. Honestly, I couldn't believe someone would be ballzy enough try that but there are a lot of crazy people in the world.
Wait a minute....
I glanced down at Lily. Out of every person in this room, I'd bet she would be the only one bold enough to do something as outrageous as that and think it would be okay. I needed to reiterate, just in case she had any obnoxious ideas floating around in her head.
"Did you hear that, Lily?" I asked, "No funny business."
The last thing I needed was for her to try and kiss him, grab his butt or worse and get us escorted out of here. It may sound insane and even a bit gross to think a child would go that far but with this kid, you truly can not rule anything out. That was especially proven true after witnessing her crawl up Shannon's lap earlier today.
Lily nudged me like she was mad, "Stop iiiittttt."
"Just making sure we're all on the same page." I chuckled trying to make light of it although, I was also being completely serious, "I don't want any problems."
Lily didn't respond, apparently she was done talking to me. She rolled her eyes up to me then moved to the other side of Paige so she was as far from me as she could possibly be.
Each one of us were entitled to a picture with the band because my only choice was to buy four individual packages to go along with our side stage access concert tickets. It would have been a hell of a lot cheaper if I could have paid for one group photo but that wasn't how it worked. The closer we got to it being our turn, the more I thought we should have a plan.
"Okay...here are my thoughts on the pictures." I explained, "I want everyone to be happy so I thought we'd take two group photos, maybe one smiling then one making funny faces or whatever. Kenzie, you'd get one by yourself because you're the birthday girl and Paige and Lily, you'd get the other one."
All I cared about was the group photos for myself. I didn't need a picture of me alone with the band and after all the embarrassment I've already felt with, I certainly didn't want one either. I just hoped the pictures turned out good.
Some fan pictures I came across were awful simply because they blinked or moved, it happens. For all the money you spend to do this, you'd think the photographer would make sure it was a good photo and retake it if it wasn't but that didn't seem to be the case for some and I felt so bad for those people. I'm sure for many, this is a once in a lifetime thing.
"Yeah!" Kenzie agreed, "That'll be awesome."
"I don't care as long as I can be by Shannon again." Lily replied shyly though you couldn't miss the hearts in her eyes, "He smells goooooooooddddd."
Oh my God....
"But we're going to be polite right?" I warned her yet again, "You heard Reni. If you try anything funny they'll kick us all out."
