Jared continued to chat with Shannon as I logged into my email.   I was hopeful it would all work out, it's not like I haven't ever had to rearrange my schedule before.   In my 'business' things can change drastically very quickly.    Still, I couldn't help wondering how far I was willing to push if things didn't go my way.

Would I be willing to put everything I worked for on the line to stay?

With my mind going a mile a minute as I scanned one email after the other, it wasn't until I was looking for a specific one that I really realized just how many emails I get in a day.    It was kinda crazy.     There were a few I would need to get back to later but I wasn't going to stop now.    I was too anxious.

Lost in my search, I was so focused that I didn't hear Jared end his phone call.    It wasn't until I felt his warm hand on my shoulder that I realized he was done and coming to sit down next to me.

"Everything okay?    You look upset."

Smiling back up to him, I shook my head,    "No, I'm fine.   Just looking for Kelli's email.    I mean, I don't see why it would really be a problem but you never know.   I just want to get it figured out.   I suppose I'm not being really patient right now."

"I know exactly what you mean."   Jared said as he sat down next to me,   "I think it's going to work out."

"I hope you're right."

Hearing knocking at the door we both looked over our shoulders.

Standing up,   "That's breakfast.   You keep looking and I'm going to go get the door."

"Okay."   I replied, my head already back down as a scrolled through each email.

Quickly glancing at the subject of each one, I knew for certain that even if I could stay in Chicago for the rest of the week, I did have a ton of work to do.   It wouldn't be a total vacation from life but I would be fine with that.   I'm also sure Jared would be as well.   Being workaholics seems to be something else we have in common.

The scent of fruity tea and fresh baked muffins filled the room, drawing my attention to the cart of breakfast goodies Jared had ordered for us.

"Can you please set it up on the table?"   Jared asked the waiter.

"Of course."

"Wow, that smells so good!"   I hummed.

Now that our room smelled like a bakery, I was suddenly starving.   Deciding to put my search on hold for the time being, I pushed my computer off my lap and went over to Jared.    My eyes went wide when I saw what was set up on the table for us.    It was literally a breakfast feast.

"Oh my God, Jared, did you order the entire menu?"

He laughed,   "No, I just wanted you to have choices."

There were two place setting and tea was already in our tea cups.   Then there was the spread.   A variety of croissants, toast and blueberry muffins were on a plate between us.   That wasn't it though.    Jared ordered cereal and fruit for himself.    For me, he ordered greek yogurt, berries and granola, my favorite breakfast.

The table looked amazing.

"Enjoy your breakfast."   the waiter told us.

"Thank you."

After signing the check, Jared held the door open so the waiter could take the serving cart with him.   I didn't sit down, I wanted to wait for him.
