" My love, are you listening to me?"
Damon's voice brings me back to reality and I see the dress designer staring at me angrily.
" I'm sorry, what were we doing again?"
" We were thinking about what dress would be perfect for the wedding, which is in one month, Lady Luna."
" She's right, my princess. What has gotten into you lately?"
" I'm sorry, Damon. I'm just nervous."
" Of what?"
" The wedding, Damon. The risk of going in war with the werewolves increases as we find spies more often. I'm worried the wedding will just be the final straw."
Damon tells the designer she can go for now and she obeys gratefully. I am sad I ruined the happy moment, but the risk is simply too high to ignore at this point. Damon is quiet for some minutes but speaks in a calm voice.
" My love, are you wanting to cancel the wedding or do you simply regret agreeing to marry me?"
This surprises me and I look at him. His eyes say he's sad and angry at the same time. I feel pain at hearing ask such a ridiculous question. I get up from the throne and hug him.
" Of course not, Damon. What made you think I was sorry?"
He sighs relieved and pulls me towards him. I kiss him and after he calms down, we sit on the floor and talk.
" Then what is the real reason for this, Luna? I can't take this anymore, so please open your heart to me right now."
" You know I would never wish you out of my life, Damon. The only reason for me being nervous is the war with the werewolves."
" Really, that's it? Nothing else, but the war possibilities?"
" Yes, Damon, that's it."
He throws his head back and laughs. I look at him confused, but he simply continues laughing. I don't know the reason for his laughter, but I'm relieved this didn't turn to a fight.
" Why are you laughing, Damon? Did I say or do something funny?"
" Because I'm happy you don't regret being by my side or marrying me. I was worried that you didn't love me anymore and didn't want to tell me that you wanted to leave me."
I now laugh at his confession and he smiles at me. We stay put for a few more hours until the chef calls us to eat. We stand up and head to the dining room. I am about to sit down when he gets ahead of me and moves the chair. He bows and after the chair is away, he tells me to sit. I laugh at his gesture and he laughs along with me. After I sit down, he pulls the chair back to the table and he goes to sit down on his chair.
" Why being the gentleman again, Damon? I could have sat down on my own."
" But that would be rude of me, my future wife. I want you to get used to these gestures now because I will always be a gentleman with you."
" Thank you, Damon. Now, when am I going to have to meet again with the dress designer? I know she must be mad at me."
" She's just worried that she can't help you find the perfect dress for the wedding, my love. She is the best designer and now the future queen is her only customer who can't decide. She's worried on how to help you."
" I feel bad now, though. I wish I could make her stop worrying some way. I don't want her worrying."
" Don't worry about that now, mi Vida. The food's here and I know you must be hungry by now."
" You're right. It's uncomfortable standing still and having to walk in circles all day."
" Well, what do you think of today's choice?"
" Wow. It's always something new each day, Damon. I wonder how the chefs find all these ideas."
" I actually tell them where to find new recipe books, my love. They want to cook everything, so I tell them where they can find books to buy. It's a good idea, though. You deserve the best and I'll do everything in my hands to make you have the best."
" Enough romantic words, for now, Damon. You'll make me turn as red as blood."
