" Damon, I know we have to focus on the war. I don't care to what happens with Karin, but can't we please try to convince Carlo of joining us?"
" No, Luna. I doubt he will betray his wife and his kingdom."
I know what he is saying is true, but I don't want to see my best friend hurt. If I had never started being involved in this kingdom, then we would both not know about anything and continue living a normal life. It may be too late for choosing to keep anything supernatural out but maybe I can at least try to convince him that it is best for him to join us.
" Damon, I won't be able to stand seeing him die. He's my childhood friend. I can't kill him or see him die."
" I know it's hard, my love, and I see him as a friend as well, but when it comes to war, there can't be compassion."
" But----"
" Don't try to convince me, Luna, because I have made my decision. Look, if he surrenders and betrays her without us having to try, then his life will be saved."
" NO! IT'S NOT FAIR! ALL HE DID WAS TRUST THE WRONG PERSON!"
" Don't make me lock you somewhere. My mother is dead and my father is barely alive! I know it hurts, but there is nothing we can do!"
I can't stand it anymore, so I simply walk away. But before closing the door, I warn him.
" I understand you have problems, but I won't stand here seeing him die. You do what you must and I'll do what I must."
" Luna, wait, I---"
I slam the door hard and quickly run to the forest.
