I walk back in and smile afterwards hiding my engagement ring in the bottom of one of my shoes.
"I still think Abby's hiding something" Mama says
"Do you know who you sound like?" Mom asks
"Ugh!" Mama says "I sound like my Mama!"
"Yes"
"I'd love to stick around guys, but I'm tired and want to go to bed" I lie
I didn't plan on sticking around to hear anyone ask me questions like 'public sex' or something about Kaitlin! It was a brand new day and I woke up with a big grin on my face.
"Mama, I just woke up and I'm in a really great mood" I say "it'd be a major mood killer if you started middle naming me to ask what's wrong, so please just enjoy the moment"
"Ok, I won't ask" she says
"Ok, I'm out" I say "I'll be back tonight, I have a date with Kaitlin"
"Ok"
I run out the door and make it half way to school, when Krista shows up.
"Krista, leave me alone"
She brought a bat, she swung the bat at me and I backed up and went home. Mama was about to get in her car
"Mama, can I get a lift to school?" I pled "Krista's out there with a baseball bat and she's already tried to hit me with it!"
"Yeah, no problem, get in"
We make it to school and I give the guards my ID to scan.
"You're good to go inside, Abby" they told me "See you tomorrow morning"
I run in the school seeing my fiancée talking to Charlie and Jessica. I take a breath and exhaled
"You ok?" They ask
"NO!" I breathe out "Krista tried to hit me with a bat!"
"Did you just say a bat?"
"Yeah, Mama gave me a ride just so I could avoid her" I say "and here I am talking to you 3 about it"
"She didn't hit you did she?" Kaitlin asks
"No"
She walks towards me and smiles
"Good"
I place my hand on her cheek (the hand the ring isn't on) and stare straight into her eyes with a smile.
"Yes, yes it is"
"You still on for our date?"
"I'm so on"
School ended and we headed to practice.
"Alright ladies, before we go out there I have an announcement..." Charlie says
We all nodded
"...we have a special guest watching us at practice today, so look alive"
She sounded nervous she hung back to tie her shoe
I put my ring in my duffle bag in my locker
"You ok Charlie?"
"I'm freaking out, Abby I love your sister" she says "how did Kaitlin propose, I need an idea"
"She just said what was on her mind on our date, but if you're gonna propose, to Jessica her middle is Ann" I say "only use her middle for a romantic gesture, we feel like we're in trouble if you do otherwise"
"Ok, thanks"
We walk out and I see Kaitlin smiling at me with a wink to add.
"Where are they?" Grace asks
"Yeah, where are they?"
Someone barged in the double doors of the gym
