I just quit my job! I am pulling Jos from school and I have to do something for a job.
In the car
"You a vegetarian, Jos?"
"No I eat meat"
"Jos, if you want meat you'll have to go look for it, we're vegetarians otherwise you'll have to change your diet" I say "my moms, my brother, sister, myself and Kaitlin are all vegetarians"
"Wow, I guess I'll change my diet then" she says
"Just one thing" I explain "I do have emergency veggie dogs marked"
"How?"
"Trust me, you'll see it marked"
We make it home and Kaitlin's smiling.
"Hi Abby"
Jos was on her way in, I had Kaitlin sit on the couch.
"Hi Kaitlin" I say "I quit my job and my Great Aunt Hana Stoppable asked me for a BIG favor"
"Ok back up, why'd you quit?"
"Talia's Principal and tried to hurt me like Krista did" I explain "then Aunt Hana asked me if we would raise her kid"
"Kid, what kid?" She asks
"Kaitlin, I did research, Jos is my second cousin" I say "leaving her in the Lipsky's home or in foster care isn't the answer"
"What are you gonna do for a job?" She asks
"I'll home school for now and then when something opens up I'll figure something out"
"Ok"
We were in the kitchen, I had my snack and sat down with Jos
"Jos, is there anything you're hiding on you?" Kaitlin asks
"Like what exactly?"
"Bruises, scars, fresh cuts, burn marks" I say "list goes on"
"Really?"
"Let me tell you something Jos, I was forced in a chair"
"How can you be forced into a chair?"
"Well, I was punched, kicked, pushed, bullied and beaten up so many times it'd make you wish you were dead"
"Wow" she says "its a miracle you don't have PTSD from what happened to you"
"Jos, I have PTSD"
"Wow"
"You will be starting home school on Monday until Abby can find a job" Kaitlin says
"Ok"
The twins started to cry
"Jos, can you come with us for a minute?" Kaitlin asks
"Yeah"
She followed us into the twins room
"This is Camden Kaitlin and Hadley Ann Mankey" we say
"They're so cute" she says in aww
"We think so" I say "oh Camden dropped her new toy"
There was a knock at the door, Kaitlin got it. She must've let them in.
"Hi Abby"
"Hi Grandma and grandpa" I say "to what do we Mankey's owe the pleasure of your company?"
"Your Aunt Hana gave me this as we were all leaving" Grandpa explains
He handed me a piece of paper, it was adoption papers. She'd already taken care of the paperwork and had Joslyn's last name changed from Stoppable to Mankey.
"Well I guess you're a Mankey Jos" I say confused
They nod and Jos scratched her head in confusion.
"What exactly is going on?" She asks
