It's another school day and Kaitlin tried to apologize to me. How can she? She withheld the most hurtful thing Krista or Jacob had ever done! Even if it was 4 years ago it still hurts.
"Hey can we talk?" She asks
"You want to talk?" I ask "let's talk"
I froze time
"How could you not tell me from the very beginning that Krista was your ex?"
"I know I'm sorry, I should've told you sooner" she sighs
"Do you even know how angry, food deprived, sleep deprived and depressed I really am?" I ask hurt "you hurt me far worst than Jacob or Krista had ever come close to"
"I am so sorry" she cries "I never meant to hurt you"
"I know, but it hurts, it really hurts"
I unfroze time, Jessica walked up seeing me at my locker.
"Hey, how was your date last night?"
I froze time again
"Kaitlin and I broke up" I say "Kaitlin dated Krista and on top of all that Kaitlin knew why Krista was beating me"
"Wow, I'm so sorry" Jess says "why did Krista beat you?"
"Kaitlin broke up with her because of her possessiveness and territorial attitude and when she did, Krista got angry at me because we started dating"
"Wow" she says "how long ago did they break up?"
"4 years ago" I say "they never had sex"
"So basically she hurt you far worse than the other two?"
"Yeah"
I unfroze time
"I am so sorry"
Classes were over for the day, I headed to practice and and ignored Kaitlin. Jess shook her head no at Charlie to avoid my anger, sadness and angst, she nodded.
"Alright ladies let's get out there and practice!" Charlie says
I had to put on a regular uniform, I'm quitting the squad after this practice. Practice is now over and I immediately froze time running home, about 25 minutes later Charlie and Jessica walk in the door.
"Hold up" Mom says "how was practice?"
"We don't know!" Charlie says "after practice Abby just vanished"
"She's in her room"
"Thanks" they say
They knock on my door, I froze time answering my door, luckily Charlie and Jessica were not holding hands.
"What is Charlie doing here?"
"She came to see if you were ok" Jess says "I didn't tell her, I promise"
I unfroze time
"Hey Abby, how are you?"
"Charlie, as of today's practice I am hereby resigning from the squad" I say
"Any reason?" She asks "the reason I ask is because if you quit you have to give a really good reason"
"Your sister and I broke up Charlie, she knew why Krista was beating me and she never told me" I say "did you even know her and Krista were together?"
"I knew they were together, but I never learned the reason why they broke up or why she was beating you, I promise" she says
"She told me it was because Krista was territorial and possessive and the reason she's been beating me is because we started dating"
"Jessica, Abby I have to go" she says "great reason, you made it off the squad"
Charlie left to go do something important.
