Klanoat Invasion –24hrs

I was at the park with Blaze’s sister, Maria. After his death, she had asked if she could stay on Earth, as its protector since it had been Blaze’s job before he had died. I had agreed when her parents had informed me of her decision.

“What should we do?” Maria asked, looking around the neatly kept park.

“Well, have two hours to kill before Cole finishes training,” I stated, “So let’s just walk. Tell me how you’ve been handling since, you know…”

“This planet that you humans have…” Maria started, “It’s wonderful, and I have been able to mediate without as much trouble as when I was at home.”

I nodded, knowing that Maria must be grateful that the Earth Republic had let her stay.

“I know that my kind is as close to nature as any race can get,” she continued, “But you humans don’t just let nature control how you live, you actually shape it to how it helps you live.”

“You know that the mainland has more forests that haven’t been touched by human hands for over five hundred years,” I said, referring to New Zealand actual, “Unless it’s the military conducting training exercises.”

“You’re kidding right?” Maria asked, “That’s amazing!”

“The New Zealand government has been very careful about the environment,” I stated, “So as to protect our land, we have moved most of our cities to the oceans that surround New Zealand.”

“What about your capital?” Maria asked, “Surely that’s still on the mainland?”

“Wellington, our capital, and Auckland are the main cities in the North Island,” I explained, “And then there is Christchurch and Invercargill in the south.”

Maria nodded before clenching her teeth tightly. She dropped to her knees, before gasping suddenly, as if someone had just stolen all of her breathe. I knelt down next to her, and gripped her shoulders.

“He’s on the war path now,” Maria stated, before blacking out.

“Who, who’s on the war path?” I asked, “Maria? Damn it.”

“Dragono, a little help would be nice,” I stated under my breath.

‘I will be there soon,’ a heavy voice stated within my head.

I quickly dodged a punch, which in my mind, was rather sloppy. Chi-Ho Phan, otherwise known as Chaos because of his love for destruction, launched his foot towards my gut.

“Tighten up Corporal Phan,” Dingo, my AI, stated, “If this was real combat, you would be dead ten times over.”

“But that’s the thing,” Chaos stated lazily, “This isn’t real combat, we’re just training.”

I launched my fist at Chaos’ chest, and knocked the Vietnamese onto the floor. I grunted at him, annoyed that he wasn’t trying harder enough. I shook my head, as I grabbed a bottle of water.

I saw him coming before I heard him, and therefore didn’t do anything. When Chaos was within a reasonable distance of me, I stepped out of his way. He crashed into the wall, and I put my bottle down.

“May I suggest helping the poor corporal up?” Dingo asked sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes, before placing my left hand on Chaos’ right shoulder, and twirled him around, so that he was now standing up straight. He nodded gratefully, before grabbing a drink himself.
