Twelve Months Later
I had never been in the Senate Buildings on Mars, and what I saw astounded me. The walls were made of Marble, and the ceiling made of glass. The floors that I walked on were made of polished Martian gravel.
As I neared the Senate’s chambers, the Marble and Martian gravel turned to polished granite; which were carved with strange runes, ones that I thought were familiar, and yet strange at the same time.
“Sorry sir, but this is a VIP access route only,” a security guard stated as I placed my hand on the door controls next to the door.
“Ralph told me to come this way,” I said.
“Ralph? Sorry sir, but there are many people with the name Ralph,” the Security Guard continued, “You are gonna have to vacate the area, or else I’ll be forced to remove you myself.”
I turned to the guard, and heard an audible gasp.
“Sorry sir,” the guard muttered, “Didn’t realise that it was you.”
“No problem, though make sure next time,” I said.
I then opened the door to the senate chambers, and immediately regretted it. All around me, there were politicians arguing over the different side effects of going to war, and what chance the human race had against a far superior race such as the Klanoats.
I stood as still as possible, and waited for someone to notice me. When they did, Supreme Chancellor Ralph Jonson told the Senate to quieten down. When all was quiet, I could feel the eyes of ever human and alien race drilling into my head, as if they wanted to figure out what I wanted the fastest, and how they could turn that to their advantage.
“Blaze Darkrunner, once a glorious commander amongst the Freedom Alliance of Earth, also the brother of Maria Jade Darkrunner,” Ralph announced, “What can we do you for you?”

I watched in silence as the whole senate waited for Blaze to answer. And when he did answer, it was with such power that I knew he had decided on doing this some time ago.
“I would like to suggest the formation of a force that is separate from any government or other military force,” was Blaze’s answer.
“And why would we need yet another military force that can suck money out of our banks?” shouted one of the senators; “If we grant you this, there will be no way to stop you from bleeding us dry!”
“I agree,” shouted yet another senator, “what is to stop you from taking command of the rest of our military forces?”
This was soon followed by other Senators arguing back and forth; as they tried to desperately understand what Blaze had suggested, and the merits behind it. I watched Blaze, as several questions and insults were thrown at him.
He sagged, as even more senators turned on him, demanding answers. I glanced at the Supreme Chancellor; the person who was supposed to stop this kinda thing, and then glared at the human, as Ralph sat where he was, a thoughtful frown on his face.
“Everybody, be quiet!” roared Ralph, obviously understanding what I had meant in the glare, “Give our newly reborn protector some fucking space.”
When nobody moved, and I was about to step forwards, Ralph barked, “Do so now, or else I won’t even bother with questioning Blaze on his idea, and approve it without any of your opinions!”
This caused little argument, and everyone backed away from Blaze. I saw a small smile appear on Blaze’s lips, before it disappeared.
“I am sorry to force you to answer these questions,” Ralph stated calmly, “But all of my fellow Senators have some very good points. Could you please answer all and any questions I put forth?”
