John's P.O.V
I was out with the Schuyler sisters picking up my suit for the wedding. It was Saturday. We always did something together on Saturday. "So John are you excited?" Angelica asked me. I thought about it for a second. The idea of getting married had me excited. Who I was marrying didn't have me excited. "I'm kinda excited." I said nonchalantly. "Kinda?" Peggy questioned. "Yeah. Its exciting to know I'm getting married but-" "You don't want to marry Alexander." Eliza finished for me. "Exactly." I said. If you asked Eliza how she felt about the wedding she would say she didn't care. But honestly I felt a bit guilty. I was marrying Alex and she was dating him. He hasn't broken up with her yet. At least that's what I know. But I know the longer he waits the more heartbroken she'll be. "We're here!" Angelica said excitedly. She stopped the car and we got out. They're more excited about this than I am. "Hello Mr. Laurens. It is Mr. Laurens right?" The man at the front desk asked me. "You should really just call him Mr. Hamilton." Peggy giggled. Eliza laughed too and I could tell Angelica was trying not to. They knew how much I hated the sound of that. But I guess I'll have to get used to it. "Yes I'm Mr. Laurens" I said. "Great! You're suit is in the back." He told us. We thanked him and I tried on the suit one last time before we walked out with it. "John you look incredible!" Peggy said walking towards me. "Thanks Pegs." I say smiling. The suit fit pretty good. And I didn't look too bad. "Alex is going to love you in that." Angelica said. I laughed. "Alex doesn't like me like that. Everything is strictly platonic." Peggy looked at me in disbelief. "You're kidding right?" "No. Me and Alex are just friends." I say in all seriousness. "John. Alex is like, in love with you." Eliza joined in. I blushed "No way! We're only getting married to stop our families from fighting." I say. "Oh yeah. Cause friends buy other her friends diamond rings." Peggy laughs. "And only friends would kiss other friends on the cheek." Eliza giggles. Angelica laughs with them. I roll my eyes and go to change out of my suit. As I was changing I couldn't help but wonder if they were right. Alex would constantly flirt with me. It was non-stop. But then again he flirts with everyone. Even with Peggy, and she's not even into dudes. So what's the truth? True, he did buy me an engagement ring. He said it's because he never got to propose... So does he like me as more than just a friend? "John hurry up! How long does it take to get dressed?" Angelica yelled. "Sorry I'm coming out!' I yell back. "You already did that John." I hear Peggy say. I roll my eyes and finish getting dressed. "Let's go guys we need to figure out what we're going to do with my hair before the wedding." I say. *** Angelica drives me back to their house. Well house in an understatement. It's more of a mansion. "John you should wear your hair down. It would look so pretty!" Eliza says. I've always tied my hair back. I love my long hair but I've never worn it down. Eliza unties my hair and it falls down to my shoulders. "Oh my gosh. Yes!" Peggy says running over to look in the mirror with me. Angelica joins us and smiles. "John you're going to look stunning come next Saturday." Eliza says. I look over at her. How can she be so okay with me marrying her boyfriend? They've been dating for two years. "Hey guys can I talk to Eliza alone for a quick second?" I say to Angelica and Peggy. "Sure." Angelica says. They leave the room and soon it's just me and Eliza. "What's wrong John?" She asks me. "Eliza are you okay with me marrying Alex?" I ask her. "Of course! Why wouldn't I be?" She asks raising and eyebrow. "Well, I mean you're still dating him." I say. "Alex an I broke up yesterday. John, I know Alex doesn't love me. At least not in a romantic way. We were just a high school relationship. If anything I think you two look better together than we did." She says with a smile. "Are you sure? I mean just say the word and I'll call off the marriage." I say. "Oh no you're not! I already got my dress!" She says. I laugh and so does she. I still feel like she doesn't want this but I'm not Eliza. So I don't know what she wants. "Thanks Eliza." I say giving her a hug. "No prob Bob." She says hugging me back. "Are you guys done in there? I kinda want to sit down on my bed." Angelica yells. "Yeah we're done!" Eliza yells back. "Alright let's finish making you beautiful." Peggy says. "And you know, you know, you know this could be beautiful." Angelica sings. "Angie no." I say. She laughs and walks back over to help me with my hair. *** Alexander's P.O.V "Dude no way I'm letting you where you're hair in a ponytail to your wedding." Hercules said. "But why? I always wear a ponytail." I said as he did my hair. "Exactly. You need to look good on your wedding day. So I'm gonna find something different for you to do with your hair." He said. I roll my eyes. Honestly who cares how my hair looks? "Laf what do you think?" I ask. "I don't want you looking crusty on your wedding Alexander." He says while playing on his phone. "I think I look pretty with a ponytail." I said folding my arms. "And I think you look crusty with one." Lafayette says laughing. "Let's do a bun." Hercules says to no one in particular. "Dude no way in hell am I wearing a man bun." I say. "Oh too bad cause you don't look ugly with one." He says finishing my hair. I look in the mirror and he's not wrong. I look sorta, kinda good. "This is what your hair is going to look like next Saturday. If you change it I'll slap you." He says going to sit back down with Lafayette. "Alexander make sure you have everything before next Saturday." Lafayette says. "I already told you I picked everything up already. I'm ready for this." I tell them. "Yeah almost too ready." Hercules muttered. "What's that supposed to mean?" I ask defensively. "Dude everyone knows that you're like, head over heels in love with John." Hercules said. "What? No they don't." I said. I felt my cheeks get warm. "I'm afraid Hercules is right mon ami. I'm surprised John doesn't know." Lafayette said looking up from his phone. "Well as long as John doesn't know then I'm good." I said. "John is going to find out sooner or later." Hercules said. "Well better later than sooner." I say standing up. "Whatever man. Me and Lafayette are going out to get milkshakes." Herc said standing up with Lafayette. "You guys never let me go out to get milkshakes with you anymore." I say with a pout. "Sorry." Lafayette said leaving with Hercules. I sighed and laid down on my bed. Does everyone really know that I love John? And if they do have they told him yet? If so then all I can do is hope he shares the same feelings. Just the thought of marrying him makes my stomach fill with butterflies. Well that's kind of an understatement. Are there butterflies in my stomach? Yeah. But it's like the butterflies are breakdancing. Yeah that's it. In just a week I'll be marrying John Laurens. We'll be the Hamiltons. In a week we'll make a promise to be loyal, kind, and devoted to each other. And we will make that promise official with rings and a kiss. In just one week.
