It had been 2 years since you had seen your Ex-Old Man Happy Lowman and you definitely not expect to see him ever again.
Granted, you worked for the Sons as a bartender but you thought Happy was still in Tacoma while you lived in Charming.
That was soon proven wrong when you looked up from your position at the bar to see him exit the Chapel with the rest of his brothers. They were milling around him and slapping his back in a congratulatory way.
You were in the middle of figuring out how to go about this when his gaze locked with yours.
Out of panic you stuttered for a moment before bolting out of the clubhouse. As soon as you got outside you made a beeline for Gemma's office, deciding that it was the best place to gather your thoughts.
As you got into the office and slammed the door shut your mind was racing with thoughts and your heart ached from seeing him again.
The breakup was nothing short of horrific. It involved a lot of swearing, items being thrown, and name calling. As soon as he had walked out, slamming the door behind him you had got to work on packing your things.
You had made really good friends with Gemma in the times that they had come up to Tacoma, so you had gone and stayed with her after the breakup until you got back on your feet.
Eventually you just got a job at the clubhouse bartending at night and then helping out at TM during the day.
You never really realized you missed him until those warm brown irises had connected with yours and all of the memories from our relationship had come flooding back, both good and bad.
You hadn't realized you were pacing until you heard a knock on the door and all of your muscles froze.
You had no time to call out a 'Come in' before the door swung open and Happy stepped into the small dark office, closing the door behind him and turning to you.
There was a long pause of awkward silence before he spoke.
"Hey (y/n), how've you been?" He asked, his tone rough and familiar.
You grappled for words before returning with a simple "I-i'm good, you?"
He chuckled softly at your nervousness.
"I've been decent but not the same since you left." He admitted, reaching out and taking your hand softly.
"It hasn't?" You asked, your head snapping up in shock.
He smiled and shook his head "No, it hasn't. I've missed you like crazy doll. I hate myself a little for letting you go." He said, pulling you close.
By now the initial shock of seeing him had worn off and you were able to think clearly.
"Then why did you let me?"
He seemed stunned by your answer for a moment before recovering
"I'm a dumbass and didn't know what I had sitting right in front of me."
"Which was?"
"Which was a beautiful, loving, caring, and amazing woman who put up with my shit and treated me well." He said, leaning closer to you.
You looked up into his eyes expecting to see a bit of amusement but instead you were met with nothing but love and it took your breath away.
Then next thing you knew he was leaning closer until your lips slowly collided in a very heated kiss, expressing all of the emotions you two had kept pent up over the last two years.
He went to put his hands under your shirt but you backed up, placing a hand on his chest and shaking your head lightly.
"What's wrong?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"This is just a lot. It's been two whole years since I've seen you and the last time we were this close I threw an apple at your head." You said, backing up from him a bit.
He took a minute to pause before nodding
"I get it. This is a lot to take in, even for me. How about we just take it slow for tonight, just talk." He said, sitting down on the couch and holding his arms out, inviting you to sit on his lap.
This is how you knew Happy loved you. You had watched him bounce from woman to woman for so long before you two got together.
If he was willing to sit and talk instead of having sex he cared and loved you deeply.
You looked at him for a moment before smiling and taking him up on his offer, placing yourself in his lap.
"So what are you doing here?" You asked softly, resting your hands in your lap.
"I was actually just transferred in." he said with a small smirk.
"So you're going to be around all the time now?" You asked, your heart soaring with hope.
"Yeah baby. I'm gonna be here everyday." He said, grabbing you hand and kissing your knuckles.
"It'll be nice to have you around again."
You were avoiding the question you really wanted to ask and Happy could tell
"Do you think we could give this another try?" He said, practically reading your mind, like always.
Now that the suggestion was out in the open it seemed so much more real and you weren't sure if you were ready to fully jump back in yet.
"How about we just take it slow and see how things go. We've changed a lot in these past few years and we might not love each other the same." You pointed out, hating to be the realist of the relationship but finding it necessary.
"We can do whatever you want doll, I want you back and i'm not going to stop until I have you. Don't worry, we can take it slow, for you I have all the time in the world to give."
