Charlie Tyler is the little sister of max Tyler. When she was sixteen she fell in love and ran away with her boyfriend who was abusive. Max knew all of his sisters boyfriend and didn't like it. When Charlie ran she had no idea her brother was still keeping a close eye on her.
When Charlie snaps at turns up on her brothers door step bloody and bruised max takes her in and sets her up with a job at Waterloo road. He wants to help her get back on her feet and wants to help her get over what had happened. Charlie soon starts to get close to Tom Clarkson who is best friends with her brother. Tom and Charlie get close and decide to start at a relationship but decide to keep it secret from max.
But how long can they keep it secret?
