Chapter 11

~ Brianna

It was only 5:30 by the time I got home. I thanked Jack and walked through my front door. Neither my mom nor Jenna were home, so I made sure to lock it once I was inside. I've been so paranoid ever since this guy broke into Savannah's house with a knife. I grabbed a box of Oreos and snacked on them while I watched Cartoon Network. I went onto Netflix and played the most disturbing show I've ever watched, Happy Tree Friends. I know its sounds cute, but it's terrifying. Jenna likes it, so I left it on while I went upstairs to get ready. I did my makeup, straightened my hair, and put on my dress. I also put on some of my favorite perfume and brushed my teeth to remove the Oreo evidence before I went downstairs to wait for Matt. Jenna was watching the creepy ass show while my mom was heating up some leftovers for dinner.

"Are you going out Brianna?" she asked.

I didn't know what to say. She had no idea I went to MagCon and she didn't know about Matt.

"Umm, I'm going on a date."

"Is it with someone I know?"

"Mom, the only guy I've ever introduced you to is Tristan. I was seven when I did."

"Then I'll meet him when he gets here."

"Just please don't be weird."

"I'll try."

I didn't really know what to do while I waited, so I decided to watch TV with Jenna. I tried my best to keep my cookies down as I witnessed cute little animated animals being sawed in half, crushed, shredded, and stabbed. Whenever they were, blood splattered everywhere.

"How can you handle this show?" I asked her.

"I dunno."

"Oh, by the way, I have something for you."

"What is it?"

"I'll be right back."

I ran upstairs and grabbed the bandana Taylor signed. I brought it down and handed it to Jenna.

"Oh my God! I can't believe this! And he literally took it off his head and signed it?"

"Yep. He did it just for you."

"Thanks Brianna," she said hugging me.

Wow she never gives me this much "affection". Normally she avoids me completely unless she wants to talk about MagCon. We were in mid-hug when I heard a knock on the door. I looked over at the clock to see it was exactly 8pm. He's right on time.

"Who's that?" Jenna asked.

"My date."

I got up off the couch and went to answer the door.

"Hey Beautiful!" Matt exclaimed, engulfing me in a hug.

"Hi Matt!"

I could see Jenna's eyes grow wide when I said his name. She knew exactly who he was. When she and I made eye contact, I put my finger to my lips, instructing her not to freak out.

"Mom, Jenna, this is Matt."

He held out his hand for my mom to shake.

"Call me Ms. Foster," she said.

He looked down at Jenna and smiled.

"Hi Cutie, I'm Matt," he said kneeling down.

She smirked and mouthed "I know". He looked back up at me and raised his eyebrows. I gave him the face Savannah gave me when Cameron knew my name at MagCon. Matt stood back up.
