Chapter 19

~ Matt

I yawned as Brianna left to go to the beach. I might as well go too. What else am I gonna do today? I put on my swimsuit and ran down, searching for her. There were two people in the water. One of them looked like Brianna, but who's this other guy? They, they were kissing. Kissing!

"B-Brianna?" I said, barely audible.

My voice cracked as I spoke. My body fillled with rage and regret. I'm such an idiot. They broke apart, and Brianna looked towards the shore. She saw me, with tears in my eyes, staring at her. That's when I realized, the other guy was Nash.

"Matt! It's not what it looks like!" she yelled.

I shook my head and ran away. I thought she really loved me. I was wrong.

"Matt! Wait! Please!" I yelled, running to the sand as fast as I could.

I was too late. He was already long gone.

"What was that, Nash?!" I asked, upset.

"I-I thought-"

"Thought what? That we had a thing? You obviously know Matt's my boyfriend. Now he's gone."

"I-I-I...umm..I don't know what to say."

"I thought we were friends!"

I ran off, tears welling up in my eyes. The sweat stung my neck, which was still bruised. I have to find Matt.

"Matt? Matt!"

It's no use. He's gone. I completely broke. What have I done? I sobbed, almost hysterically. I tried to pick myself up, but I couldn't.

"MATT!" I screamed.

No one was here. Everyone was out. I have no idea where Matt is.

"SOMEONE HELP ME! MATT!" I continued to scream.

I couldn't stop crying.

~ over the span of about a week

Brianna never left her room. She only ever let Shawn in. No one knew where Matt was. No one seemed to be in a good mood. They're all a family. When one person is sad, everyone is sad. I blame myself. Why'd I have to kiss her? Now she's miserable. It's all my fault. I was on the couch, doing nothing as usual, when Shawn came downstairs, in a hurry.

"Nash!"

"Is there something wrong?"

"The door's locked to Brianna's room. I screamed her name. I banged on the door. She's not answering!"

"Oh my God."

We both ran back upstairs. On the way up I ran into..Matt? When did he get here?

"Matt? When did you- nevermind. Help us!"

"What's wrong?"

"The door is locked to Brianna's room. She's not answering anyone."

He looked extrmemely concerned and almost terrified. We all kicked and banged on the door until it finally opened.

"BRIANNA!"
