"What are you talking about?" he asked.

"How are my wrists clean?"

That's when his expression changed from happy to concerned.

"Are you okay, Brianna?"

I sighed and decided to tell him.

"Matt sit, I have a lot of explaining to do."

He appeared hesitant, but sat down anyways. I explained everything I remembered, down to the last detail. About when we got to the beach house, what we did, and what happened.

"Babe, we just arrived last night. I had to carry you out of the car. You fell asleep," he admitted.

"D-Does that mean Tristan's here?"

"Yes, but I want you to stay in here for a moment okay? Please don't freak out. I promise you we are gonna have a great time here okay?"

I nodded and shuddered. What the heck is going on? Am I going insane? Matt came back in with a granola bar in his hand after a few minutes.

"Eat it," he commanded.

I looked down at it and sighed.

"You can do it. I know that was most likely the worst dream you've ever had. I've had dreams like that, where they feel real."

"You have?"

"Mhmm."

"So does that mean I'm not going crazy?"

"Yep."

"Okay good."

I looked down and slowly unwrapped the cellophane from the bar. Matt sat down next to me and took it from me.

"What..?"

He broke into little pieces and handed me a piece.

"Start out slow," he said.

I put the piece into my mouth and chewed. It felt like I hadn't eaten in so long. I almost instantly felt better.

"More!" I yelled as spit and granola crumbs flew out of my mouth.

"Umm ew!" Matt screeched in his white girl voice.

"Cmon! I'm hungry Matt!"

He handed me the rest of the pieces, I practically inhaled them.

"Feel better?" he asked, laughing.

"Yes, thank you Matt," I gushed, reaching out for a hug.

"I love you Brianna."

"I love you too."

~ skips to end of summer

"I had a great time Matt, but I don't want to leave," I said, getting ready to board my plane home.

"I know baby, niether do I, but you can't just skip school. I know how important it is to you."

"I know," I sighed, "Promise you'll call me every day?"

"Promise."

He leaned in and kissed me slowly.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Before boarding, I looked back at everyone I've grown so close to over the summer. My new family. They all gave weak smiles before I said my final goodbye, Savannah and Tristan by my side.

"Goodbye!"
