Chapter 42

Once we arrived, we were instantly recognized. I myself had gained fans from my YouTube channel, so girls came up to as well asking for pictures. I was surprised we weren't mobbed. I thought 3 members of O2L, a member of MagCon, and two widely known girls on YouTube would've created a bigger scene. After taking some pictures and following some fans on Twitter, the concert was getting ready to start. Most of us had never heard of this band "Shooting Star". Andrea told us that they were big in her hometown. They were actually really good. I loved the songs they were playing. In the middle of the concert, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I don't know how I felt it over all the excitement of the concert. It was a text, from my mom. I read the first line, causing my mood to change instantly. I found Sam, grabbed his arm, and dragged him out of the crowd. My emotions took me over as I took him to the car.

"T-take us home," I croaked.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"My mom s-sent me a text."

His face dropped.

"What does it say?" his voice cracked

"I-it says, 'I know I've been holding back on telling you. It isn't fair to keep it from you. You do have a brother. His name is Sam. When your father and I split, I got you and your dad got Sam. I'm sorry for keeping this from you. And to answer your other question. Your dad's last name is Pottorf.'"

We were silent for a moment, save a few sniffles.

"Wow," was all he said.

"S-so that means..."

We pulled into the driveway and got out of the car. We stared at each other, both smiling.

"We're siblings," we said in unison.

We ran into each other, hugging. We were probably standing there, hugging for nearly 10 minutes.

"This is incredible," he smiled.

"I've always wanted a brother," I laughed.

We went inside and sat on the couch, just talking about our lives and how we grew up. I told him about Jenna and my mom and how hard it was for me to make friends at home. I told him about how I was bullied when I was younger.

"I would never let anyone hurt you," he said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"Thanks Sam. So, how are we gonna tell the others? I mean, mostly everyone is gone."

"Well, you need to tell Matt, just so he doesn't think we're dating or something. Then we should wait until everyone is together to announce it."

I chuckled at the thought of Matt getting jealous.

"Good plan," I smiled.

We spent the rest of the night watching tv until I fell asleep.
