"Hey, Eva," Leo said as they walked back from the arena. "I feel like I owe you something."

She smiled at him. "Yeah?"

"Yeah. A story. Why I was so pissed the day I came back."

She held up her hand. "Hold on. I know the perfect place for stories like this."

She led him to the armory, pulling him into what looked like a gardening shed for waging war on one's tomatoes. "Okay, go."

"So, here's the thing. Back on the Argo II, we were attacked by the snow goddess, Khione. She accidentally flung me to an enchanted island called Ogygia that you can only visit once. Trapped on that island was a girl. Her name was-" he paused and took a breath. "Her name was Calypso."

"And you fell in love with her," Eva guessed.

His ears turned red as the war tomatoes. "Well, yeah. I promised her I'd come back for her. And when I died and was resurrected, I landed back on Ogygia. I tried to take her off of the island, but kind of failed. So I was pissed that I couldn't save her."

She looked away, focusing on a dagger. "And you hung out with me because the rest of the Seven are couples, and that made you think about Calypso."

Hearing her say Calypso's name sent shivers down Leo's spine. "Yeah. And, well, I thought you were cool. I still think you're cool."

She smiled half-heartedly. "And you're still madly in love with Calypso."

"A little. Just... felt like I oughta tell you."

She put her hands on her knees and stood up. "Okay. I'd better go."

"Bye," he said. Deciding he couldn't face his brothers and sisters yet, he headed for Bunker 9.

Instead of the Athena cabin, Eva went to the Hades one. Thankfully, Nico was there, without a Hazel or a Will in sight.

Nico looked up and saw the tears threatening to spill down her cheeks. "Oh, gods. Eva, are you okay."

"He's in love with someone else," she choked out.
