Eva shivered as Festus passed through the magic border around Camp Half-Blood, her arms tightening around Leo's torso. She hadn't left in almost 2 years, since the Battle of Manhattan.

"I wonder if you ever get used to that," Leo said.

"I don't know how you could," Eva pointed out.

Festus whirred in agreement.

Eva closed her eyes and leaned against Leo's back, trying frantically to memorize the way he smelled (like smoke, motor oil, and metal) so she could keep the memory in her mind until next summer.

Way too soon, they were landing on top of an apartment building. Just a few floors below, Clara and Chris were waiting for her.

"So," Leo said as they climbed off, standing next to Festus. "I have something for you."

She raised an eyebrow.

He handed her two packages, one small and one large. "Oh, Leo, you-"

"Didn't have to?" he finished for her. "But I did. You'll appreciate them." He tapped the smaller one. "This one first."

She unwrapped it to find a plain white box. She opened it, and inside there was a couple pieces of paper and...

"A cell phone?"

"I made it. It's made of Imperial gold and Celestial bronze. It won't send out a monster signal," he said proudly. "Even if you text people who have a regular phone. It's set up already with my number, Annabeth's, Percy's, Nico's, Will's, and a lot more. And I took a bunch of photos of me for you." He started to say more, but she threw her arms around him and kissed him full on the mouth.

"Leo, it's amazing. Thank you so much," she murmured against his lips.

He grinned sheepishly, bright red. "Yeah, well, open the other one."

She did, and found a regular grey hoodie.

"I know it's a thing for girls to wear their boyfriend's hoodie," he said, "and I've worn it to bed the past week, so it smells like me - hopefully - and-"

She kissed him again. "Gods, Leo, this is perfect. Thank you. You're the best, you know that?"

He smirked. "Oh, I know."

She looked down. Leo was wearing work boots, and she wore black All Star high tops. "I probably should go."

His arms tightened around her. "Yeah."

She kissed him one last time, and it lingered longer than normal. "Bye."

He grinned. "Bye."

She grabbed her backpack, which had fallen on the ground, put on the hoodie, tucked her phone(!) in her pocket, and started towards the door, glancing back and wiggling her fingers to say goodbye. He grinned, then got back on the dragon and took off. She watched them fly away, then took a deep breath and walked downstairs.

Here we go.
