Calum

Gia stumbled into the room and just like that I knew she was drunk. I turned away from her pretending to be sleeping. She sat on the end of the bed putting my jacket she was wearing beside her "I know you aren't sleeping."

I didn't say anything and watched her since it was pretty dark in the room. Gia groaned as she struggled to get she shoes off, then gave up just sitting there staring at the wall. I felt her get off the bed and watched her walk out to the balcony, she just stood there.

The cold breeze came in the room and I got up mainly to just close the sliding door. "Told you" she mumbled.

I froze and looked down at the ground "Just forget what I said..."

Gia sighed looking straight ahead of her at the dark sky "How am I suppose to do that? You told Ashton you love me and just for me to act like it's nothing."

"Yeah because it doesn't mean anything, I was telling him what he wants to hear so he'll shut up..." I lied.

Gia stared at me with her clenched "Fine then."

I nodded and got back in bed after closing the sliding door. "I'm an idiot" I told myself staring at the wall.

It was so quiet in the room and Gia was still out on the balcony doing who knows what, but I was concerned about how long she's been out there. I got up again and walked out to the balcony "Are you going to bed soon? It's cold out here."

Gia didn't say anything. I leaned over looking at her face- her nose was red, purple lips, and rosy cheeks- no reaction. "Come to bed now, Giovanna."

Her eyes darted towards me "I'm fine... I'm just thinking."

I nodded and sat beside her "About what?"

Gia let out a long breath and looked down "It's... Don't worry about it. I'm just thinking."

I thought she was going to say she was thinking about us, her and I. "Ohh.."

She nodded slowly "Yeah..." Gia looked at me with sad eyes "I'm gonna go out for a bit..."

I furrowed my eyebrows "It's late, just go to bed now..."

"I just need a drink and go think for a bit" she mumbled grabbing a jacket heading to the door.

I grabbed her hand "Just, was it about what I said?" Gia looked down letting out a long breath. "Talk to me..."

She just stared at me "Not everything is about you..."

"Then what is wrong?" I pushed.

Gia's eyes watered and slowly a tear fell rolling down her cheek "It's about me, can I go now?" Her voice cracked and her wiped her eyes.

I walked in front of her to keep her from leaving "Talk to me..."

Giovanna looked down "Because I'm an idiot..." I furrowed my eyebrows and she looked at me "It really is complicated because I really thought there was something. You made it really clear that it's just hook ups and friends with benefits."

"Giovanna... I..."

"I'm the idiot who fell in love with my best friend again... This isn't all just fun and games, Cal. Not to me" she mumbled.

I didn't know what to say. I didn't expect her to say anything like this, if I knew I wouldn't have lied to her face.

Gia looked at me waiting for me to say something, but I didn't. "It's pretty clear where we stand now..." she walked out the door while I stood there in shock.
