Demi

I looked at my phone, pretending I was mad at Nick & when I looked back up at him, I realized I must be convincing him because he looked like he was in trouble. I pressed my lips together & raised my eyebrows up.

"Uh... tell you? Tell you what?" He stammered, sounding nervous, so I had to laugh, which seemed to confuse him, further.

"Your tour with Eden! Were you not going to tell me it was nominated for the Billboard awards?" I asked, laughing.

Nick let out a breath, then started chuckling. "Oh... uh... I didn't tell you because I didn't know. She must have sent me an email telling me, too. I saw she emailed me, but I didn't open it."

"Nick! Do you know how amazing this is? You got two nominations. One for 'Top Collaboration Tour' & the other was for 'Top Venue.' I am so happy for you. Congratulations, baby!" I took a few steps toward Nick, so I could give him a hug.

"Thanks."

I leaned back to look at Nick, with narrowed eyes. "You seem shocked."

"I am. I wasn't expecting this."

"Well, it is amazing. And you guys deserve this." I kissed Nick, quickly. "Let's go eat dinner. And tell the kids."

The kids, bless their little hearts, showered Nick with praise that evening. I know they probably didn't even understand how awesome the honor was, but they were excited for their dad, anyway. Nick seemed happy, but he also seemed reluctant, which I didn't understand. That night, as we were getting into bed, I decided to ask him.

"How are you feeling about your nominations? And be honest, please."

Nick pulled the blanket up to his chest as he laid down, resting his head on the pillow. "I feel great about it."

"You seem.... Like you're not that excited."

"I'm just not looking forward to hanging out with Eden." Nick replied, then turned to look at me. "That's all."

"I don't understand your problem with her, all the sudden."

Nick sighed, looking at the ceiling. "She lied to me, a few times. I just don't trust her."

"What did she lie about?"

I watched Nick's brow furrow, slightly as he licked his lips. "I don't want to say. It's not important to anything, right now. It was something that I experienced & why I don't trust her. I don't want to talk shit about her."

I didn't understand why he didn't want to tell me, but I took a deep breath & let it out. "Certainly you can spend one evening with her. And walk on stage with her to accept your award."

He chuckled, glancing at me

He chuckled, glancing at me. "We aren't going to win."

"Stop being so negative." I playfully, smacked his arm & he pretended I hurt him, making me roll my eyes. "You have a good chance. Besides, I will be there with you."
