Jace heard the doorbell of the institute. He glanced up and saw Isabelle fly by to open it and turned his attention back to his food.
"Hey, Sebastian, how are you?"
"I'm good! Said Sebastian hugging Isabelle.
"You know you didn't have to do the doorbell. You're a shadowhunter, the angels grant us automatic entry into institutes." Said Izzy.
Sebastian shrugged his shoulders.
"I know but, formalities."
"Ah, right. Well Clary's almost ready, She'll be down in a few."
At that moment Alec walked over,
"You're Sebastian right? The guy that's taking Clary out on a date?"
Jace's head turned very fast.
"DATE?" He enquired
"Yeah, I set these two up not too long ago." Replied Izzy.
"As I was saying," interjected Alec,
"She's practically my sister so if you do anything to hurt her, and I mean anything at all, I WILL MOST DEFINITELY KILL YOU!"
Sebastian's eyes widened.
"Hey, Clary does that all the time. See I knew you were perfect for each other."
"Trust me I would never do anything to hurt her. Hi, I'm Sebastian. You are?"
He turned to Jace expectantly
"Jace," he said coldly, ignoring Sebastian's outstretched hand and left the room.
He felt as though his blood was boiling. She had told him to spend the night in her room, and now here she was going off with some other guy. He turned to walk up the stairs and when he looked up, there she was. She looked like an angel. The light reflected off her hair and dress casting a red wash on her face and the nearest wall. She was so beautiful, nothing could make him stay mad at her.
"So, what do you think?" She asked gesturing to herself.
"You look," he stuttered looking for the right word. "You look stunning."
She blushed, "Thanks." She said looking down at her feet, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. "So did you meet Sebastian?"
"Er, Yeah."
"What's he like?"
"I wasn't really paying attention."
"Oh right yeah, you're probably tired. Well I guess I'll see you later."
"Yeah see you later," replied Jace
He watched as she left with Sebastian, his rage turning to regret.
