Clary spent three days in the infirmary. She didn't remember much after speaking to Alec when she had exhausted herself. She'd lost a lot of blood that needed replacing and runes could only do so much. She remembered waking up about a day after and crying to Alexander. After that she'd been in and out of a fitful doze. On the forth morning she woke up in her room, Isabelle was sat in the chair next to her bed her arms propped on her knees, her hands under her chin. "You're awake!" she said springing up straight.
Clary sat up. "What happened?" She Asked groggily.
"Valentine, you, you kind of killed him. You're a hero Clary!" It all came flooding back to her, Sebastian, the fight, the blood, Valentine, everything.
"I remember." She gasped. They sat in silence for a few moments and Clary made sense of everything.
"Clary listen, I'm really, really sorry. You said there was something off with Sebastian and I didn't believe you and then he took you and, and hurt you and I'll never forgive myself. I shouldn't have brushed it off and called you silly."
"Iz it's fine. It's okay. I'm okay. Don't beat yourself up about it. Everything's fine now and it's no-ones fault either. Assigning blame never helps, it just makes the problem worse. So there's nothing to forgive. None of us could've known."
"Thanks." She said hugging Clary.
"So did Alec fill you in?"
"Yeah, he told us what you told him. You okay?"
"Isabelle, I can't believe I actually killed my own father. And finally found out who killed my mom."
"Wait what?!" She said breaking apart from her.
"It was Sebastian's demonic "mom". He told me. He said that she had hated my mom for abandoning Sebastian and wanted her dead. She'd also wanted revenge for my mom killing Valentine. He had promised her that she would rule Earth once he rid it of demons and she could do whatever she pleased, well as long as he approved, if she raised his son in Edom. So when he died she raised Sebastian and wanted to kill my mom."
"That greater demon that we all fought? That was Sebastian's demonic 'mom'? Well that makes sense, he did scream mother before she appeared."
"Must've been then. How is everyone? Alec and Magnus? And Simon is he alright? Does he know anything?"
"They're all fine. I spoke to Simon this morning he's fine."
"Good. And, wh-what about Jace?" She asked hesitantly.
"I don't know I haven't seen him today."
"Is he ok?"
"He's fine now. Nothing an iratze and some rest couldn't fix." Clary let out a breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding.
"That's good too."
"Are you alright to get out of bed? Because they want to meet with you in the library."
"Do you know what they wanna talk about?"
"They probably just want to hear the rest of the story. I mean they heard it all from Alec but first hand and second hand stories are very different. It'll be alright."
"I should be fine, besides I need to get up and stretch. I've been cooped up for way too long. I should be down in five."
"Alright well I'll see you later then." Isabelle got up and left Clary alone to freshen up and get dressed. She put on a plain blue midi dress and headed down to the Library to meet the others.
