The next day she didn't see Jace at all, she looked for him everywhere but couldn't find him.
When she went back to her room mid-afternoon her phone was ringing.
"Hey Fray, sorry I didn't call you back last night, I was with Eric."
"Hey, it's alright. Listen, I have something really important to talk to you about."
"What is it? Has something happened?"
"I've got a bit of a dilemma at the moment. Okay, so the guy that i'm seeing, this is gonna sound so weird but when he kissed me it felt like," she took a deep shuddering breath, "It felt like i was falling, into a deep, dark abyss. It felt so wrong but i don't know, I don't know what to do, maybe i'm going crazy."
"Clary, that is not normal, you HAVE to end it!"
"You're right, i just feel so bad. He likes me, like a lot."
"Trust me when i say that you should be more worried than you actually are!"
"There's another thing, Jace and i argued last night about sebastian, he wants me to break up with him."
"Does he know?"
"No, God no, but when we argued he came over and i thought he was gonna push me or something but he kissed me, he actually kissed me. And, now he's avoiding me."
"Woah, way to go Fray! That must've been a heated argument, if you catch my drift."
"Simon," she hissed "you can't say things like that."
"Oh I can! Anyway we are going off topic here, the most important thing is breaking up with Sebastian before he becomes a real danger, Jace can wait."
"Alright, I'll call him right now."
She put down the phone and called Sebastian.
"Clary hi, listen I'm really sorry about last nig-"
"I need to talk to you, meet me and Taki's in 15."She cut the call before he could reply, got ready and went to Taki's.

Sebastian was sat there waiting for her at a table for two. He waved when he saw her and she walked over to him.
"Hey," he said getting up and kissing her cheek.
"Hey, listen we really need to talk."
"What's up?" He said as they both sat down.
"I think we should break up,"
"Is this about last night? Because I didn't mean it I was just angry!"
"No, no it's not about last night. It's not your fault either, it's just I don't feel like we are right for each other. I mean i really like you but it's just I don't know how to explain it. I guess this just isn't working for me" she spoke carefully trying not to upset or trigger him. But it didn't work. He gripped Clary's wrist, his fingernails digging into her skin, his eyes darkening to black.
"You can't break up with me, there's no-one else out there for you!"
"Sebastian, stop. You're hurting me." She said as calmly as she could.
"No! You can't break up with me!"
"Sebastian!" shouted Clary.
His eyes turned back to green and he let go of Clary, blinking as though he didn't know what had just happened. She got up and left as fast as she could and ran back to the institute.
