I stepped off the plane and sighed, shoving my hands in my pockets. The wind blew past me, moving my hair along with it. The air felt different here in Japan. I looked in front of me to see everyone else who had been on the plane with me.
Once inside, I made my way to the conveyor belt to retrieve my luggage. With my bag slung over my shoulder, I pulled my suitcases behind me and left the airport.
--
In the distance was a gate with a name plaque beside it. Once I was near it, I could clearly see the name engraved on it. Just as I was about to ring the bell, the front door opened. I was greeted by a middle-aged woman with a kind smile on her face.
"Y/N-kun, welcome."
I opened the gate and she immediately pulled me into a hug. I hugged her back as best as I could.
"It's been so long," she said after she pulled away.
"Yeah..."
She saw the luggage I was carrying and offered to help bring it inside. "Don't worry. I got it..."
"Are you sure?"
I nodded and carried my stuff inside. "You have no idea how excited he was," she said, grabbing hold of my duffle bag.
"Auntie, you really don't have to--"
She motioned that it wasn't a problem, leaving me to take my shoes off at the entryway. I put on a pair of indoor slippers and grabbed the handles of my suitcases.
"This way," I heard her say from one of the rooms down the hall.
I walked in to see her opening the closet. She then turned to look at me. "This will be your room. Sorry that it's a bit cramped."
I shook my head and placed my suitcases beside the door. "Thank you for letting me stay here, Auntie... I appreciate it."
"It's no problem at all, Y/N-kun," she grinned, "I may not have seen you much since you and my nephew were five years old, but you're still like a son to me. Besides..."
I noticed a change in her tone. "It's been getting pretty quiet around here..."
I knew what she was referring to. My friend had told me the story. "I'm sorry..."
She shook her head and smiled. "It's alright. I have my nephew and now you. I couldn't ask for anything better."
It was silent until a loud beep echoed throughout the house. "Oh! I almost forgot! I'll leave you to unpack!" she said before dashing out of the room.
I looked away from the door and over to the suitcases.
Guess I better unpack...
--
With a sigh, I laid back on the futon and looked around the room. It's my first time back in Japan in years...
Tomorrow, I was going to attend a new school. From what I heard, it was a pretty good school too. The school dominated in sports, especially volleyball.
I was broken out of my thoughts when I heard my phone ringing. I tilted my head to the side and grabbed my phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey. It's been a while. How's it going, Y/N?"
--
"Man, you look so different! You looked somewhat innocent before, but now you look so scary! You've got piercings and everything!"
[A/n: If you don't like piercings, forget about that part]
I narrowed my eyes at his words. He laughed nervously before his grin return. "I almost can't believe it's you! You've gained a lot of muscle since the last time I saw you. The hell have you been doing?"
