Chapter 36

M/n scrunched his nose, a ticklish feeling lingering on his face. He slowly opened his eyes, meeting hazel ones. "Meow."

The small kitten laid its paw on M/n's cheek, letting out another 'meow'. A small smile tugged at the h/c-ette's lips. He reached out and picked it up as he sat up. "You're so small..."

The kitten moved his head forward a little. "Got a big day ahead..." M/n said to the kitten before setting it down on the floor.

He got up off his bed and grabbed a shirt from his closet. The kitten followed close behind as M/n left his room. He sighed in irritation when he heard his phone ring in the distance. He turned on his heel and walked back into his room, grabbing his phone off the nightstand. One of his eyebrows arched when he saw the caller ID. 

"Hello?"

"Hey, M/n!"

He sighed in irritation. "What do you want, Naomi?"

"Meanie~! I can't call you anymore~?"

"Shut up."

"I don't even call you that often~ In all seriousness though, I was only calling to see how you were."

"A little late, don't you think?"

"Oh, shut up. I didn't know when you'd be back. Azuma's been crashing at Eisen's place ever since he got back. He told mom. Apparently, I was the only one who never knew."

"Idiots... Anyway, why did you want to check up on me?"

"Seriously? You're freakishly obsessed with volleyball! You're such a volleyball nerd! And because of that, you neglect everything else!!"

"Fucker, you--"

"If you won't acknowledge your health whatsoever, then your caring friends will! That includes me!! So, meet me at my house pronto!"

"What--"

"You better be here in ten minutes or I'll go to your place myself!!"

"Ooh, so scary. Can you hear it? I'm shaking in my socks. I can't believe I'm being threatened by Naomi Hattori herself. So scary. I almost pissed myself from how scared I am."

"You better be here!!"

"I can't be bothered to leave my cozy place. I'll just let the ten minutes go by and then you can come to my apartment, as you said. Here, I'll even set an alarm to go off in exactly ten minutes. If you're not here by then...you can forget about trying to threaten me ever again."

He felt small paws around his feet. He looked down to see the black kitten. "Right. Breakfast... Oh, and bring kitten food on the way, Naomi."

"Kitten food--"

He hung up just then. "Let's set that timer now..."

Just as M/n turned to the next page of his (manga/novel) (favorite/manga or novel), his alarm went off. He looked up. "Well... Would you look at that... She didn't make it."

He dismissed the alarm and resumed reading, one of his hands going back to caressing the kitten's black fur. It was quiet for a while until harsh knocking cut through the silence. The kitten looked up and at the door. M/n closed the book and set it down beside him, the kitten getting off of his lap. He walked over to the door and opened it. A smirk tugged at his lips as he leaned against the doorframe. 

"You're late."

A girl with platinum-silver hair stood there, out of breath, with a bag in her hand. She looked up, glaring at the h/c-ette. "Fuck...off."
